Crowds Thanksgiving Week

What are the crowds like during Thanksgiving week? We have never been that week - we usually go sometime in May. Are the crowds comparable? Is it usually warm enough to swim?

The crowds will be much larger that what you're used to in May. We were there this past Thanksgiving. We arrived the Monday before and left the Monday after. The crowds were large through Fri or Sat after Thanksgiving, but still manageable if you had a plan. We got there every morning at rope drop and stayed until lunch, then went back to the resort for a rest and a swim (yes, it was warm enough to swim). Then we went back out in the evening for dinner and some more park time.

The weather was mostly low 80's and beautiful! Evenings were in the sixties, so we needed a sweatshirt or light jacket when out at night.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back again at Thanksgiving.

We LOVE Thanksgiving at WDW. Weather is usually perfect, crowds are manageable if you get to parks at opening and take a break. Exactly what the above poster said. Holiday decorations are beautiful. We often travel in March too and I can't say either week is busier than the other. Crowds do pick up Wednesday before Thanksgiving but we are usually back relaxing at the resort when they all decide to show up! We leave the Friday after Thanksgiving so I can't speak for that weekend.

Definately can be crowded. We were there just this past Thanksgiving and I agree with pp that as long as you have a plan and arrive at RD, take a mid day break and then return all should be good. Our weather was quite nice and we swam a couple of the days. We left on the Monday after Thanksgiving and I would say starting Sunday you could see the lighter crowds from the few days prior.

We very much enjoy going at around this time of the year, especially with all the Christmas decorations!
