Crowds over Memorial Holiday and the week

Thinking of booking Memorial Day weekend and the week following the Monday holiday (May 30 - June 4). Can anyone speak of the crowds during the holiday, and then the days after it?

We went last Memorial Day weekend. Flew down Fri. afternoon & came back on Tuesday. It was busy...but didn't think it seemed much worse than a summer trip really. Mem. weekend was kind of early this past year so it was coincidently the end of the Flower & Garden thing at Epcot & one of the Star Wars weekends at HS in addition to being a long holiday weekend...I think I heard (read) that the F & G thing is done before Mem. weekend next year. I was expecting the crowds to be worse tho - I really didn't think it was THAT bad. OH, there were no Brazilian Tour Groups either which was nice! There were some other groups tho (cheerleaders maybe?. But we've run into those Brazillian groups before on other trips and they can really gunk things up. So no worries on those.

One thing that surprised me was that for the most part the parks closed early still (7:00ish mostly) so we spent more time at DTD. We were also staying at SSR on that trip so DTD was very convenient. The weather was great except we DID have a couple of DOOOOZY thunderstorms which could happen any time in FL!! The water was standing about 6" deep at DTD one night! We had dinner ressies at T-Rex and got DRENCHED trying to get there. But overall it was a great trip and we'd do it again sometime if DS's school schedule allowed for it. Since it's later next year our AP's expire the week before so that's 1 reason we didn't plan for it for next spring. NOW I think I heard the AP's are good for 15 months but ours are only good for 12.

But we love our little long weekend get-a-ways! Go for it!

Yeah! The 5th Dimension had the concert on Memorial weekend this year, and it was great!!! We were at WDW before the 3 night cruise, and this past May was the year of deluges!!! Rain, rain, rain was mostly what we had before Memorial Day...didn't get to use SAB nearly as much as we thought we would be able to in May! We did have good weather on the cruise, and then on Memorial day itself. We went home on Memorial day.

This year coming up, for Memorial weekend, just DH and I are going on a 3 night RCCL cruise. We're not staying at WDW before, because no flower show. Has anyone stayed at the JW Marriott in Orlando? If you have, can you comment on the pool? It looks very nice.
