Hello!

We're planning a cruise and have a Port day in Port Canaveral on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

We were thinking about doing the tour to Islands of Adventure (my sister is a Harry Potter nut) and was curious about crowd levels on Wednesday in Janauary from all of your knowledge.

We went to the Studios in 2004 (again, while on a cruise) and our pacakge had hte express passes. I know that you can't use the Express Passes in Potter World, but do you think they'd be necessary on a weekday in January? Can you buy express tickets (to *** onto pre-bought admission tickets at the park?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Tom

last year there were posts about the crowds at the parks from early to mid january.
schools return jan 6th so that did add to crowds.
some tour guides show up in january also.

i would think you might be okay, especially going mid week to the parks.
go early would be a help in advoiding crowds.
use the single rider lines when you can.

the end of that month usually has low crowds.

i'm sure others will add their opinions for your question.

hth.

I was there in 2011 the first week in January on a Wednesday and Thursday. We spent most of the day at the Studios and went to IOA for the 2nd part of the day. The Studios except for Rip Ride Rockit was empty, 0 - 15 minute waits for everything. IOA was much more crowded with 20 - 45 minute waits for most rides except Forbidden Journey that was posted at 120 minutes (and took 20 minutes using single rider). The next day, we went back to IOA for a few hours and waits were about the same. Even in the morning Olivander's had over an hour wait.

Yes...you can purchase Express Plus passes at both parks but I would suggest waiting until you arrive to see if you really need them.

We were there late Jan last year.Crowds werent bad, but there were tour groups EVERYWHERE...Lots of them, All the time.We were grateful for the express pass just to avoid them

We are now debating between IOA or Magic Kingdom. Neither of us are really roller coaster ppl and not sure if will be bored at IOA? It seems like it is all either big rides or kids or water
