This will be our first 4 day cruise this coming February. We were wondering how the crowds are at the pools, movies, etc. Is it crazy? Should we consider staying on our own Verandah and ordering Room Service?

Do not stay in your room! there is so much giong on... There was always chairs at the Quiet Cove Pool, even on Sea days. The other pools get a bit crazy, but you can escape to deck 10. There were never too many people at the movies or any of the seminars taht I went to. I have only been on the Magic, but I would think they would be the same.:D

Yes the pools and movies may be a little crowded but don't let that spoil your fun. Now having said that I find relaxing on my veranda on Sea days a wonderful thing! We are not big pool people so we will some other things (like the Captain's talk, or a DVC reception) and then have lunch. Afternoon when things get most crowded we'll head back to the room for a good read or a nap. Hey its my vacation and I'll relax like I want too :)

Enjoy because in my opinion sea days are the best days!

The spa, THE SPA, THE SPA Did I mention the spa. I love the spa on a sea day. Book early.;)

When my husb. & I cruised the first time in 1998 we had the day at sea (YEAH!! - originally had it this time, too, but they cancelled it - Darn!!). The pool area was more crowded that day than others, but we met a bunch of really nice people & got involved in a few volleyball games with them & my husb. played basketball w/them while I relaxed. Usually, we enjoy our quite time alone & could have gone to our verandah - which we LOVE - but we took advantage of this time to meet new people, get involved in fun activities & get to know our tablemates even better.

Enjoy!! The day @ sea is beautiful!! :Pinkbounc

It looks like we are on the same cruise(Feb 22,2004). If you check out(1st post) and post on this link below, you can see other posters who are on this cruise also. We are on deck 6 and this is our 1st cruise also.

We are on the 2/22/04 cruise as well.. and if Disney continues to stop at Freeport after the end of the year (right now there are only dates out to december, but apparently they are not updated on a timely basis) then our cruise will not have a day at sea - but a stop at Freeport.

We are planning to "pretend" we have a day at sea and only do one port instead of 2, but I doubt the ship will be crowded if the stop at Freeport is continued.

I think deck 9 gets a little out of control on sea days. While the adult pool isn't full, the chairs always were. The children's pools were very crowded, as was the deck area. Deck 10 has plenty of chairs and there were always some available up there...but you can't really watch little children in the pools from up there if that is an issue. We could always get pingpong tables, shuffleboard, etc. on decks. The rest of ship never seemed crowded...just deck 9 right around the pools. There were plenty of tables around the perimeter of deck 9 though...those never seemed to get overfilled, even during meal times.

That said though, we liked sea days very much. No reason to stay on your verandah...but don't expect to be able to strech way out next to the Mickey pool either.:D
