Crowds on July 17th???

I know that July 17th is DL birthday...it's also mine. We are going on July 17th this year. Is the park extra busy on this day or do they do anything "special" for the DL anniversary?

It has been a while since I have been to DL in the summer. Regardless of the DL anniversary, what can we expect on a Friday during the day in July?

Oh good question, I have never been to DL on its birthday either. I will be there on that date as well. Hope your birthday celebration is great!

we went years ago on the 17th, it was fairly crowded. They handed out birthday hats and had a huge cake. I'm not sure what they do now as this was for the 45th anniv. I would imagine it might be more crowded for a friday but not a nightmare. Go... have fun!

This isn't a huge anniversary, so I would expect that the crowds wouldn't increase significantly this year for the DL anniversary. Next year will be more crowded.

I believe Robert Olszewski (the miniaturist) will be at DL on the anniversary this year. Or, that's what he told me (lol, seriously... well, we were standing in line to get stuff signed... but it sounds more impressive to say just me ). So I imagine that will bring a few more people to the park, but not a lot in the grand scheme of things.
