Crowds on a day Magic Kingdom closes early?

One day of our upcoming June trip Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close by 7pm with no fireworks show, I'm assuming for a private event. Do these types of days typically have lower crowd levels? We have hoppers so I'm wondering if its worthwhile to shift some plans around and do Magic Kingdom that morning.

They typically have lower crowds because people with one park per day tickets don't want to use a day there.

I agree. If you plan to hop anyway, then it's definitely a good idea to make that day one of your early MK days.
