Crowds May/June - Star Wars Weekends

Hello All,

We are planning a trip and I was wondering about the crowds for Star Wars weekends and when is the best time to go. My DS and DD are both Star Wars nuts thanks to their father and thought this would be fun for them. Since I turned them into Disney nuts. And what better way for a vacation buy doing to things at once. I am just concered with the crowds. We are normally the Sept/Oct Disney goers. we also have a little one that will be with us (10 months),

Any suggestions will be greatly appreicated.

What exactly are the dates for the Star Wars weekend? I'd like to know, as we will be there from May 16th - 25th. Also, where is it being held, what theme park?

I thinjk these are new for the release of the new Star Wars movie in May. I will be there from 5/14 - 5/22 although we didn't know about the Star Wars thing I am glad to be there when it is going on.....

I went to a bunch of the Star Wars weekends in 1997 while I was a CM when the original movies were being re-released. It was a lot of fun. I was able to get the actor's autographs and they had trivia contests and other events going on. Characters were all over to take pictures with. Even better was when I went to see Star Wars on opening night at midnight and many of the other movie goers came dressed as the different characters. It was a sight to see. LOL

We were at MGM on a Star Wars weekend in 04 by sheer coincedence, but it was a lot of fun. They even have special sittings of Who Wants to be a Millionaire with a Star Wars focus.

We are considering being in the area at the same time again this year. What (if any) special events are planned to coincide with the release of Episode 3?

We were there last year for the last SSW in June. The crowds weren't bad. DD and I stayed the entire day. It was a lot of fun. We didn't do any of the autograph with the actors, we just did the character pics and autographs. Chewy, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Leia, Storm Troopers and others. There was a special parade at 11:00 in addition to the evening parade. If you want a sit down dinner though, be sure to make a ps. Sci Fi was taking no walk ins the day we were there.

We were there last year for some of Star Wars Weekends. If you're trying to avoid these crowds, I'd just say to avoid Studios on the weekend.
