Crowds March 21st? Cheap hotels?

How are the crowds at Universal, both sides March 20th or so until March 23rd? We'll be going back again on March 21st hopefully! We bought AP passes but lost two days because of rain & getting lost

Also .. anyone know of decent hotels for a decent price? We stayed at the Howard Johnson Main Gate Resort for 55 a night last time .. thanks in advance, shame the on-site is too much for us (party of four, too)

That's spring break for most. Best to arrive early each morning at 8am and beat the crowd.

HoJo is about the cheapest you can find. There are hotels directly across the street, and there is the Hilton Garden down the street. The Days Inn may work if you want to walk. You can read about them here.

How much is HoJo? I went to Howard Johnson for 55 a night, but wasn't too good of a hotel, atleast the Main Gate Resort near Disney. Distance isn't too big of a deal, we're driving up. Any clues as to how crowded it may be, such as 55 minute wait times on mib and such?
