im going to both universal parks during the last full week of january (23-27), what kind of crowds can i expect? im assuming they will be light but can i expect not to wait in any lines?

That time of year is usually slow. Lines should not be long at all. That weekend is also the passholder preview weekend at Disney's AK for Everest..so that will be where the crowds would be.. at least that is what I would expect.

I've been to UO several years in a row during the last week of January and it is usually very quiet. I have found that that week and the second week in September (around 9/11) are the slowest times at UO. The only negative is the shorter park hours and the maintenance closures. BUT, that's the best time for UO to do those things, so I just enjoy everything else! At times (particularly right at opening) it almost seems like I have my own private theme parks :teeth: .

Just a heads up there are TWO different cheerleading competitions in univeral area January 27-30th

What do you mean by "in the universal area?" exactly? Those are my exact dates, and I was planning on staying at Marriott's Grande Vista in a 2 bedroom villa (3 kids!) and just getting a room for one night at RPR for 2 days of FOTL. But, the cheerleaders along with the Tony Hawk event have me a little worried. I am still holding a reservation for RPR at a AAA rate of $159 for all 3 nights. Maybe I should reconsider...? :confused3

I think it is going to be slow except on the weekends, and even then it won't be bad.
