We have to go before dining is out and I am thinking it will not be busy because of children being in school??? What do you think??

We've gone the last 4 Septembers (middle to end of the month) and the crowds have always been pretty light. Last year was the only time it was remotely crowded and that was only a couple days of the trip. I'm not sure why.

Have a great trip!

We are going the second week of September and booking for dining had lots of available times so I am thinking it won't be too bad then!

Oh really?
I wanted to go the second week in September too- but my son starts preschool that week and I hate for him to miss the whole week of the first week..

We are looking at 3rd weekend in Sept. We would be there hubs bday and its close to my infant turning one!! ;)

We will be ther starting Sept. 16 and I'm hoping that crowds will be super light as well! This is our 1st time going at this time since my kids are in a new county for school -- we are out the whole week for Fall Break! Can't wait!

It's been a few years since we've been in September, but my experience was the parks weren't busy. Short waits for most rides. But the restaurants were super busy and were turning a ton of people away who didn't make ADRs. If you are interested in going this September, I'd definitely get on the WDW website and check out the availability of ADRs. At this point, the most popular places may be booked up, but keep checking for cancellations. The new CC guarantee policy is making it easier to get ADRs.

We'll be there Sept. 1-12! Can't wait. The crowd predictors from TP are relatively low. Mostly 1s-3s with a few 4s-6s. If you're going mid-Sept. crowd predictors look good. Mainly 1s.

I just checked my Touringplans.com subscription for 3rd week in September dates from the Sunday the 16th to Sunday the 23rd b/c I don't know what specific dates you were thinking. I will list the crowd levels below. Remember, they are a 1-10 scale with ten being the highest crowd level.

Sun 16th: 3
Mon 17th: 4
Tues 18th: 1
Wed 19th: 2
Thurs 20th: 2.5
Fri 21st: 1
Sat 22nd: 3
Sun 23rd: 3

So...it looks like a great week to go. Better than the next week when I am going!!!

I just joined these forums and booked our first Disney trip with DD (3) for sept 26-29. can't wait!!

Oh wow about the touringplans, Thank you so much for listing that.. That would be a great week to go!!! I still havent narrowed down a specific date but I better make up my mind because it has to be booked by Friday to get the free dining!!

I was wanting to go the first week in September- Leave home on Labor Day and go that Monday-Saturday- I would only have to miss 4 days of work plus we would have a day before we had to go back to work. It is actually only 100.00 more for the extra night plus going back to the parks one more time, we were only planning on 4 nights, now I am hoping for 5!!

We picked that same week based on the short work week so less time off for mom & dad, the free dining promo, and the relatively low crowd forecast by TouringPlans.com. The downside is the heat and humidity, of course.

We will be there that week also!! I picked that week because there was so much dining availability, I really hope this is reflective of the crowds!!:yay:

We are coming in on the 5th and leaving the 10th.
Got all the ADR's I wanted with an option of what times I wanted. I am hoping for low crowds, heat, and short wait times!! :wizard:

Always happy to help. Good luck with whatever you decide. Touringplans has our week predicted higher, as we are going the last week of September/first week of October. We will be fine if we use a great touring plan though.

How much higher is TP showing the crowd levels for the last week of September? We are also going that week, and since I am not yet a TP subscriber I can't see that far ahead, but the crowd calendar on easywdw shows crowd levels of 2 for the 24-26 and 3's for the 27 & 28. Doesn't seem that bad to me (hopefully!) but I was just wondering if TP was much different.

We have been 3 different years 2006, 2009, and 2011 in September... the 1st year towards the end of the month. The other two years the around the 16th. The first year the end of trip had a little more people but the Food and Wine Festival had started. The other two years were very low crowds. Ride waits are around 10-20 minutes which a few exceptions, like 2009 Toy Story Mania had long waits but it was still the "new" ride.

You shouldn't have any issues!! Enjoy we love going in September.

I have gone in Feb, May, Sept (numerous times), Oct, Nov. Last September, we went during free dining, the weekends were very busy! Animal Kingdom was very very crowded. We followed the Touring plans and I found the Touring plans to be quite off, the lower numbers were not reflected, in my opinion. Keep in mind, I have never gone during the super busy times. I just thought TP was estimating very very low compared to the crowds that were present.

Before we moved here we always visiting at the end of September. I noticed over the years how it seems to get busier each year.

The crowds are manageable and you should have no problem, especially if you use a crowd calendar (We use the touring plans Crowd Calendar), EMH if you can, and just basic Disney tips that you can learn on the internet, and here on DIS.

Have fun on your vacation!

We will be going in September for free dining as well. It's a surprise for our kids. Just so happens that all 3 of our kids have birthdays in September. DD will be 6 on the 24th, DS will be 5 on the 19th, and DS will be 1 on the 12th. I heard crowds are low which is good cause my older ones have ADHD so too many people are overwhelming. Hope your trip works out. :thumbsup2
