DH & I are going back the World 10/8/06 to 10/15/06. Can someone please let me know how the crowds are. We are used to the crowds during the second week of September. Basically, you walk onto every ride. We wanted to get there for the Food & Wine Festival, but now I am thinking we may have made a mistake booking in October. From reading other posts, it looks like October is pretty crowded. Please let me know. THanks :earsgirl:

We were there Oct 1-10. We crowds were more than we expected. Epcot in the evening was very busy due to Food & Wine. However, with fastpass, our wait times didn't even exceed 10 min most of the time. The walkways were crowded, but the ride waits were very reasonable.

Hi just got back this past Wednesday, and the crowds aren't that bad. I've been there when they are alot worse (June, July, August, December). The F&W was great, along with MNSSHP!
Have a blast!

The crowds are really bad in Oct!! We just got back 2 weeks ago and I was Shocked!!!! I didnt expect the crowds to be that bad!! But I guess its the food and wine festival, holidays, and MNSHP

We just got back. For the first few hours, the parks are empty and everything is walk-on. In the afternoon, EVERY park is crowded and wait times can exceed one hour for the popular rides. Fastpasses ran out on some rides in the afternoon. We walked on as much as possible in the morning, fastpassed what we could, and never waited longer than 15 minutes. It's all about the strategy. You'll have a great time. :)

We were there Oct. 18-23. ASMu was empty during the week (less than 6 families at both pools Wednesday afternoon despite temps in the low 90's), but the parks were PACKED!! Over the weekend, our resort was completely full. The parking lot went from empty to completely full (hard to find a spot) overnight...literally.

We just got back yesterday after arriving 10/16. We usually go mid-September like you, and are used to walking on everything. We considered it to be quite crowded, so much so that we changed our itinerary - had planned to go to MK on EMH night and realized it was going to be too crowded to suit us. So, we missed Spectro and Wishes (both of which we'd seen before anyway). And the evening that we planned to do the F&W was the night that MK was closed for MNNSHP, so it was the only park open late - VERY crowded. We used a lot of fast passes, and weren't able to re-ride our favorites. But all in all, we really enjoyed the F&W and were glad we went to that (so glad that we went 3 nights!!! :goodvibes ).
We planned this year for Oct. partly to avoid the hurricanes we've dodged the past 2 years, but Wilma was on the horizon this year. So, next year it's back to September.

We just got back and DH and I did not feel they were that bad. Our last day trip to WDW was on Dec. 27, 2002. That trip was awful. WE both said we would go in October again. Some of the rides had and 45 minutes plus wait but with those rides we used a fast pass. The most we waited was 20 minutes if that, that included SM, BTMRR, and SW.
