Crowds in October '09 ?

Hi all !

We are starting to plan our trip Disneyland California and we are considering october, somewhere around 11-16.

What is your guess, would the crowds be very bad ? Is it halloween time ?

Hoping to stay at the Grand Californian, but we are open to other ideas so any comments, tips etc are welcome

Our last trip was during the month of October and it was wonderful. However, we did schedule our trip to avoid the large crowds of Gay Days and the October school holidays.

That week is the fall break for Arizona so I imagine that week could be quite busy this year. But you will still have a good time!

Because of all the fall breaks taking place that week, plus Oct 12th being Columbus day (so lots of schools will have three day weekends), I have a feeling it'll be busy. But if you're prepared for busy, you can still have a wonderful time.

Weekdays will not be bad at all. Get there early and you will have not problems. Some people get holidays then but not that many and of those who d not that many are in parks. Been going since 1960 and October is the slow time unless special events are happening. Hit Tomorrowland first then walk to Bobsleds then Small World then Toontown then double back to Fantasyland then Adventureland across to Splash Mountain. That is what I used to do.

However you do the parks the lines will not get long until afternoon if at all. Yesterday the stand by for Nemo was under an hour, I think like 30 minutes and we got on bobsleds on a Sunday in less than 20 minutes. Tower of Terror with all them cheerleaders was only 30 minutes in the middle of the day on a Sunday.
