Crowds in mid april? input from those who have been (not around easter)

We are looking to book in April of 2018 -- I know a long long ways away but i am a planner and like to have things planned out in advance.

The timing in April would be the 18-25th 2018 -- I already checked and Easter is no where near our dates that year. It is though our kids school vacation. We were thinking of taking them out of school in may for a week but i would rather not.

I am just looking for some input as the general crowd level and craziness this time of year with it being school vacation for others around the country. We just went for NYE last year so i can't imagine it would be as crowded at that. We managed to hit all the rides we wanted to with our FP+ and only waited for a handful of rides.

We have always gone around that time for the past 5 years and have had great weather and low to moderate crowds. We make sure to wait at least 10 days after Easter to travel--usually when most spring breaks have ended. We've also gone 1st week in May and had a wonderful crowd free trip. It was more crowded this year at that time (April 16-21) than in prior years, but it was still very enjoyable with low to moderate wait times.

Given that your trip is so far away, I'd be cautiously optimistic about the crowds. It seems as though attendance is way up at all times of the year now, and if that trend continues, it may not be a super quiet time 2.5 years from now. But our experience has been wonderful this time of year.

We went for a long weekend that covered the 18th a few years ago. It was very manageable - nowhere near Easter - and the weather was perfect!

It is a toss up with April or the end of May covering memorial day. I seem to think April might be more manageable than memorial day where everyone is off. Weekends are always busy so i would imagine a holiday weekend would be worse.

We went the 12th to the 19th this year, one week removed from Easter. Fantastic crowds, very happy with wait times for everything, availability on FP and ADRS were great. I did not book 6 months out and still got all the ADRs I wanted. The only totally nuts crowded day we had was on Saturday when it seemed like just a ton of locals came in, but I think that's pretty much every Saturday. We have talked about going back next Fall, but the way people are talking about crowds I honestly think I'd rather wait until Spring 2017 again!

This also can depend on Spring Break crowds. Apart from that in our experience it's not bad
