We are spending 3 nights in 2013 in may at DL:. Luckily 3 days between grad nites may 12th 13 th 14th. Given summer has not started yet and no grad nite those days will the crowds be fairly low?? (Mon tuesday)

We went in May 2011 from a Tuesday through Friday (one of those nights was a grad night). Tuesday and Wednesday were wonderful, the longest waits we had were for Go Go Gadget Coaster and Dumbo and they were about 20 min. (The longest lines we saw, but did not go on those rides, were for the Matterhorn and Midway Games which were both about 45 min long). Thursday got a bit busier (it was the grad night) and on Friday it was busier than I liked. I have never been during the summer to compare crowds, but the waits on Friday were so bad we only did a few rides and just walked around and got more autographs, left midday to swim, and came back for the fireworks.

We went later in May, probably closer to some schools being out, which might explain the crowds later in the week. I think with the dates you are going the crowds won't be bad at all. Have fun...

I went this May, Monday to Friday (20-25th) and had AP event on Mon/Tues and Grad nights on Wed/Thurs/Fri.

I noticed no difference with the AP event (I went to the event on Mon) but I did notice a surge in teens on Wed/Thurs/Fri when DCA closed around 8:30-9:00.

Star Tours, Space Mtn, Big Thunder and Splash Mtn all needed fast passes to avoid huge lines. As did TOT and I am guessing the new Cars Land ride.

The weather was beautiful, you will have a great time. Just Fast Pass wisely.

thanks for the advice. Fingers crossed for not too busy. I have been reading reports about folks over there now.... I mean why would you go in June July August with massive crowds.. but each to their own I suppose.

We went in May and it was wonderful. I think the longest line we ran into was TSMM and that was averaging about 30 minutes! Also the weather was perfect.

Because:

- Crowds are rarely "massive" in the summer - especially if you get an early start each day and take afternoon breaks - I have found crowds to be totally manageable
- The weather is good and you do not get rained out
- the entertainment is running at maximum availability
- ride refurbs are generally zero so you get to ride everything
- it is easy to get everyone some free time in their schedule
- there is lots of daylight

We went May 13 - 16 this year. Crowds were moderate - I've seen lower and I've seen higher. Walking through the park didn't feel overly crowded. Wait times were moderate (40-45 minutes for TSMM vs wrapping a couple of times outside the regular line that we saw during Spring Break). Grad night (on the 16th) did effect the crowds, wait time and mood of the park, so it's great that you would be missing them.

Thank you for asking this! I am in the middle of considering either mid December or May. I love December but I'm not sure if I'll be able to swing it and yet May seems so far off. Your mention of grad nights is worrying but I'll be visiting the area for several weeks so it would be easy to plan around I guess? Decisions decisions! Low crowds are nice, I wonder if December will be mental midweek due to CL and BVS? Gosh I want to visit so badly lol!!
