I've been to Disney in later summer, and it was very hot and quite crowded. We still expect heat next week and some crowds, but someone we know came back last and said they had to wait an hour just to get a Fastpass?!?!

Can that be true? Are the lines that bad in June? Suddenly I'm not very excited about this trip...:(

I think that is a little over exagerated. You will probably have to wait over an hour to "USE" your fastpass but not to "GET" your fastpass. The fastpass distribution lines can look long when you first walk up, but the longest I have ever seen someone wait to "get" a fast pass is about 5 minutes (maybe 10 if you are waiting on Test Track or Mission Space passes). The crowds have been pretty heavy the past few weeks (at MK anyway) but not anything like the holiday season (Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas). If you have been in the summer before you know what to expect, it currently is no different than a normal summer at WDW. It is very hot and humid and there are a decent amount of people but... You will not have to wait an hour just to get your fastpass ticket from the distribution machine...

Thank you! I couldn't believe that is true, but when you hear "from a friend of a friend" you have no way of verifying.

I knew the truth could be found at the DIS!

and all I can say is "Unreal!"

We normally go in August so I'm used to the parks being crowded, but there were WAY more people there. I compared it to President's Weekend & August combined! The heat didn't help either!

Just go, have fun & expect crowds.

It's hot and crowded but definitely doable! We were just there last week and it seemed to be a little more crowded than I remember (seemed to be a lot of youth groups etc). The longest we waited in line was an hour for the Test Track. And it was late and mostly inside (hello air conditioning!) so it wasn't torture. ;)

I think you'll be surprised at how short some of the lines are. Mission Space actually had a stand-by time of only 10 minutes! And this was in the middle of a Friday!

Go and have fun!

We just got home on the 12th and it was to crowded for my taste. Now mind you we normally go in the off times--late Spet, early Oct and early Dec. The first week of June wasnt to bad, more crwded than we are used to but not to bad. But starting June 7 the crowds picked up quite a bit. Several times we stopped for lunch the tables were full and many people waiting for an empty table. The ride waits were about 60-85 minutes on the popular rides and a little less on others. The wait to get a fast pass was 10-15 at Test Track but that was the only one that had a line. Return time wasnt to bad though, we got the FP about 11-11:30 and the return time was 4-5. The return time for MS though, at the same time, was about 1.5 hours later. We also got a suprise FP for HISTA so we did that after eating and while waiting for TT FP time. It wasnt unmanagable but certainly not what my family is used to.
