Crowds. In January, with free dining??

Should we expect larger than normal crowds in late January since there is free dining? We only have 4 1/2 days so Im hoping for fairly light crowds.

Don't know - this is the first time public free dining has been offered in January.

We're planning a trip for mid-late January and here's my best guess.... FD is being offered for a lot of 2011 IMO so I don't expect the crowds to really be different. However I think the dining places (both TS and QS) will probably be busier than in previous years and more people will stay on site so buses might be more crowded.

I still think it will be a quiet/ non-crowded time overall.

I am hoping it will be ok. We are coming at the very end of January - beginning of Feb.....

Hard to say. I figure it could go a couple ways.

1) People won't want to go even with the free dining because Christmas cost so much money and tax money isn't back yet and it's too hard to pull the kids out of school, especially if they have midterms.

2) People will use January as a belated Christmas gift, thinking "Oh it'll be so slow! and free dining!!" and the crowds will be rockin.

3)It'll end up being kind of half and half and we may see a bit of an increase in crowds but it won't be terrible.

I'm going Jan 24-Feb 2. I can't get the free dining because I'm staying on a friend's DVC points but I'm ok with that because I'm paying like 4 bucks a point for a one bedroom villa. I hope the crowds won't be too crazy.
