Crowds in first week of August?

I just recently made a ressie for the first week in August at WL. I reviewed Expedia before I made my reservation and there seemed to be a lot of availability at all WDW hotels. When I called CRO they said there was availability for any type of room at WL, even standard view which usually sells out quickly since it is the lowest price.

I have been to WDW before in January, the last week of April, early November and Christmas week.

Of course crowds at Christmas were horrible. The last week of April was not too bad, and in January and November, there were hardly any lines at all.

How bad will the crowds be in the first week of April? Based on the hotel situation, it seems they will not be too bad at all, but I have read that summer can have some of the largest crowds (not as bad as Christmas of course). Is the hotel availability misleading?

Does anyone have experience with early August that can fill me in on what level of crowds I can expect in comparison to the other times of the year that I have visited?

I was wondering the same thing because we are also going first vweek in Aug and noticed there are many rooms available! I too wonder if that will affect usual crowd levels

There will at least be three of us there. :teeth:
I was also surprised that we were able to get an AP rate for a standard wing room at the CR. Here's to it not being too crowded. :drinking1

Add 3 more to the list !! We will also be there the first week of Aug. I recently went to the WDW website and put in our dates there was availability at ALL resorts!!!! Maybe just Maybe the crowds will be smaller than expected :wizard: :wizard:

we will be there the 2nd week--wonder how hotels are then. Maybe many are changing their dates to 2-3 weeks later for the free dining!!!!!
I wont get my hopes up too much, but if we get there and its not crowded, be prepared to see a 26 year old doing the DIS Dance!!!!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

I don't mean to burst your bubble and you wont actually know until you get there, but when I booked for Sept. I too was surprised with the availability and asked about it. She told me that most people don't book till a week or two before they come!?! I booked on Memorial day and she said they were completely filled the week before(that had just passed), but a week or two before you could still get in. I was blown away!

Count me in for the first week also :cool1: Maybe the free dining swayed folks towards later in the month :cheer2: We can always hope can't we! :flower:
