Crowds in February?

We are planning to go to Disney World next year in February. Our dates will coincide with the Princess Half Marathon and with Mardi Gras. I'm wondering how the crowds are around this time of year. I know that the crowds may be a little more than normal, taking into account of the Half and Mardi Gras. I know some Southern schools will be out part of that week because of Mardi Gras. I've been trying to find some trip reports from February to get a general idea, but there really aren't to many from February. Any input would be great! Thank you so much! :thanks:

The beginning of your trip may be crowded but the end shouldn't be too terrible. I know lots of people who travel to Disney the week of Mardi Gras (from south LA) and they insist that it's the best time to go. We were there the same week last year- it was wasn't the princess run or Mardi Gras but the weather was great!! Chilly the first couple of days but warmed up nicely by March 1st.

We got there the weekend of the marathon this year. Started going to parks on Sunday. We planned it well, and had very little wait times all week (minus Monday in MK which was least recommended but worked best for us).

We went in February for many years before our oldest started college. It was crowded but not that bad especially not as bad as spring break. Although the times we were there during Mardi Gras it was definitely more crowded. I still would pick February over Spring Break.

Good to know. I figured the weather may be a little chilly, but it's Florida....so if you don't like the weather, just wait 10 mins lol.

Awesome. I had been looking for someone who has gone the week of the marathon. I honestly didn't think it would affect the crowds to much, but it's good to actually hear it.

Spring Break there is horrible. I have never been during that time and don't want to go during that time lol. I have been in May and June before and anything is better than those times lol.

We have two girls in school so the time we can go is kind of limited. I chose Mardi Gras week, but they will already be off that Monday and Tuesday, so they will only miss 2-3 days of school, which is better than 5. And they are allowed 3 "vacation days" during the year anyway.
