Crowds in Feb 2007?

We are still debating what week we want to go on in February 2007. Or even early March.

Any thoughts on what weeks to avoid? Or which ones to recommend?

We went Feb 9 - 13 this year and the crowds were minimal. We really never waited for anything more than about 10 minutes, most of the times no wait at all. It was cold though! I think we had record low temps for central Florida.

I would say go in January or early to mid February but not any later. You run into President's Day, Marti Gras, spring break etc. It only gets more crowded the farther into Feb you go.

I've been in February twice crowds are low up until the weekend before President's Day. It's amazing how much it changes almost overnight, crowds triple and there are lines for everything. Up until that weekend everything is walk-on.

Planning is the key once President's Weekend arrives. You can still get a lot done though. Use fastpass, try to avoid certain parks on certain days, made ADR if you plan on a sit down restaurant. The parks are still manageable though. Just expect longer waits from the middle of February on.

We're visiting February 11-16... Does anyone know if President's Day is February 12 or February 19, next year? Wait... just checked.... it's legally, the "Third Monday in February" -- that would be February 19. Whew!

My advice would be to NOT go during Presidents Week. Next year the Mardi Gras holiday falls on the same day as Presidents Day. Here in Louisiana most schools get that week off and half of Louisiana goes to Disney World. If your schedule is flexable choose any of the other three weeks. February is a great time to visit.

Yikes! Mardi Gras + President's Day = the perfect storm!

Seriously, it does sound like that will be a crowded week. Also, the week of the Daytona NASCAR race is sometime right around mid-February. That will also have some affect on WDW attendance.

We were there the week before & partial after Pres. weekend in '05.

Even during the weekdays the crowds were larger than we expected. Seemed to be a lot of "race widows" & children, with DH off to Daytona. They run races their the week before the 500 too.

Pres. Day itself was Epcot a.m. EMH. Touring went so well, I insisted we take the monorail to the MK. Big mistake, :crazy2: I've never seen so many people in my life!

We are going to WDW Feb. 9 - Feb. 17. We will be staying at the BC. Here are some important dates to remember!

President's Day - Mon., Feb. 19, 2007
Daytona 500 - Sun., Feb. 18, 2007
Mardi Gras - Tues., Feb. 20, 2007

Basically if you can get in and out of WDW before the 17th, you'll be doing really well.

Punkin's Mom is right though. Central Florida did hit record lows last Feb. Let's hope this year it's warmer. Crowds at the Daytona 500 (this Feb. 18th) had to endure a race time temp. of 38 degrees!

I just booked a quick trip in Feb. for DH and me. From the 28th till the 3rd of March, hope it is warmer then. :sunny:

We were there this year the week before President's Day. We had eight great days and left the Friday of President's Day weekend. The crowds were a bit larger than when we've been in October but totally, totally manageable. We did have race crowds and cheerleading crowds to contend with - but still not bad at all. Most of the cheerleaders were competing and the only way it affected us (other than hearing cheers all day long :) ) was one night they closed MK down at 6:00 (I think) for just the cheerleaders.

We did do every EMH and then hopped to another park when the park got a little more crowded. This was our best trip so far and I would go again in Feb. in a second! We did have record cold one night during EMH - it worked for us though as our DD's are older and didn't mind the 30 degree weather. Although Splash mountain was out for us!

Have a great trip - enjoy! pixiedust:
