Good evening!
Wondering if anyone can tell me what the crowds are like at WDW and the Fort in early Sept. I am specifically looking to check in on Sunday, Sept. 6 (so it would be the weekend after Labor Day). Would I possibly still encounter Labor Day "left over" crowds that week?
DD turns 5 that week, thought it would be magical to do her birthday in MK. Technically, that will be our last chance to keep her out the week of her birthday, as she'll start kindergarten the year after.
TIA!

It falls under value season, so shouldn't be too bad.

It used to be great time to go, but in recent years Disney has made some attractive offers to fill in the dead times and its worked, to a point. It still a great time to go, a little hot but less crowed nontheless.

It's a very good time to go, if, and I'm serious about this, we don't have a hurricane brewing. I went this past Sept. and in 2007 as well. When I set up in the 2000 loop in 07, I was the ONLY ONE in the loop. (Setup on a Wed.). Very bizarre feeling. This past year, had concerns about bringing the popup for the first time with storms coming and going. Fay had dumped so much rain in late Aug, loop 300 sites were mostly all waterfront. There were several other storms coming and going, so got a cabin. EEK! The price on the cabins is usually unbelievable low at this time of year.
I have never seen so many empty sites at the Fort. Very, very quiet.
The parks tend to be much quieter during the week and pickup on the weekends.
So, September is a bit of a gamble, could be a real winner or a washout.:confused3

This is actually great advice! The only things I fear about going in Sept are the heat and the potential for hurricanes. It is good to hear that things are relatively quiet. Thanks for the info.

And thanks to everyone else who responded as well!

From what I've read here, the Fort may not be too crowded..but I would imagine that with the free dining promotion that usually runs during that time period, you may encounter crowds in the restaurants. So be sure to make any dining reservations in advance so as to eat where you want.

Thanks for the advice! Meals won't be a problem though, as we'd head back to the camper for our meals. When we were there in Oct, we ate dinner one night at MK, and that was at that restaurant in Tomorrowland, right across from Indy Speedway (can't remember the name). We timed it just right, people were headed over to Main St for the parade so it wasn't crowded at all! It is something to think about though, as I am sure the DDP draws people to WDW and can impact the crowds...
