Crowds in early Dec?

What are the crowds like the first weekend in Dec? We're debating whether it would be worth the extra $$$ to go for the adventure 6 hour tour or if the crowds are fairly low perhaps it won't be worth the extra $$$??? We only have 1 full day to do SW and thought that since it's our first time and we only have the 1 day that we should do the tour.

Can anyone offer some advice on this one??

Personally, I would just get there early and stay till closing taking time to see everything that you think you would enjoy. Crowds in the past were not huge at this time. That said I think there probably have been record crowds going to SW this year, so there may be more people than normal in Dec.. Most shows are in huge stadiums so it still should not be a problem though.

We were there last December on the second Saturday of the month. The crowds were not a problem at all. We did just about everything there is to do and were never rushed.

One important thing to do is to plan your day around the shows. Because each show occurs only a few times each day, it is important to make sure that you have time to take in the shows that you want to see. That is what we did and it worked well. In between the shows we had more than enough time to do everything else.

We went 11 years ago and it was one of our highlights. We will be definitely making the trip there this time in Dec. too. We will work around the Shamu and Dolphin Shows. We are also having Dinner with Shamu. My DD's pediatrician's daughter used to be a trainer in the Dolphin group and he has pictures all over his office, so my kids have been waiting to go and see the Dolphins since they were old enough to talk and ask him who the pretty blonde girl with the big fishes is.
