Crowds in Early August?

Hello-

I am wondering what the crowds are generally like in early August. We have made our last 3 trips in the middle to end of that month ('08, '10, '12), which has been great for low rates and light crowds. But the kids' sports schedules are now interfering so we're thinking of making the trip a couple of weeks earlier.

Anyone visit last week who can compare that crowd to later in the month? Also interested in people's experience in previous years as well. I know there are crowd calendars online but I'm interested in some first hand experience.

We've made the turn, halfway between the last trip and the next one. Time to start planning!

I just came back Monday and I thought the crowds were horrible. Now I expected crowds because it is summer and we leave mid day for a break/nap but it was crowded!

I have gone a few times the 2nd/3rd weeks of August and prefer it more.

We were supposed to go next week but the TA had a great room rate plus my oldest is starting middle school and she was having anxiety over missing orientation even though they would of let her come in alone and they do orientation on the first day again.

thanks for the info, that's exactly what I was worried about. Oh well, it's either go and deal with the crowds or don't go. I know which way I'm leaning.
