crowds in august?

Hey what are the crowds normally like in August? for our trip next year we are looking at late july or early august, what would be best?

Florida schools usually start back around the second week of August and the crowds are lighter then. We went last year the week of August 9th and although it was HOT the crowds weren't too bad.

Is it just florida schools that start back or is it most of the US? our schools over here dont go back till september

I think it's mostly the Southern US whose schools go back in August. Ours (Western NY, NE US) go back the beginning of Sept.

Does it make much of a difference in the crowd levels? would mid august be a better time to go rather then mid to late july?

Just wanted to bump this question up. Right now I have a deposit down for a stay starting August 11. I am intersted in the crowds levels, also.

It will be hot with frequent (but brief) showers. In 2003, we learned to use the rain to our advantage -- many people leave the parks (for a while, anyways).

It looks like the crowd levels don't fall off much until the end of August.

The crowd levels do matter... With a good plan however, you can have an enjoyable trip most any time.

Mid to late August is mainly 5 or 6 which is better them 8 in july so I think we'll be going then!!
