Crowds, Heat, Rain, and Lovebugs-Only 5 days to go and how are the conditions?

Just curious as to how the conditions are at the parks this week.

Would love to know if the lovebugs are gone by now! :scared1: Also would like to know about the heat, and if the humidity is sky high so I can pack accordingly.

Thanks for your responses! We leave in 5 days! :dance3:

Mlle Upanova
Upanova, I will gladly answer your questions. I live in FL 90 miles south of Disney and we have had no lovebugs this summer. We were at Disney in August and there were no lovebugs there either. It has been a very hot, humid, summer here in FL, but the temperature and humidty is dropping a few degrees everyday. We have had a lot of rain the past 2 weeks so I hope you have dry weather. I am sure it will be hot when you arrive in 5 days, but the temperature should be better than it has been the past couple of months. We go to the parks in the mornings and early evenings and sit by the pool in the afternoon when we want to avoid the heat.

We live a little north of orlando, and I have to say that this is the second day we have seen the love bugs, oh it was like 3 of them. As for the weather it has been very warm but nice... Everyday they call for showers, some day we get them and some days we don't. Its fla so anything is possible. I say go have a great time and if we have some rain it will be fine. (Sometimes the rain cools things down)..Have a great trip!

I want to apology to the OP for my inartful initial erply to a legitimate question that they had. Also much appreciated was OP's graciousness in not feeling the need to pile on that so many others believed necessary. I do hope you have a great trip and hope that I didn't in anyway dampen your enthusiasm for your trip. In retrospect, I would not have commented and created this mini firestorm.

Now can I comment on the other comments? As I mentioned earlier, I didn't call anyone any name, but posed a question about the necessity of the OP's original question.

For this I was called
"rude" - post#3
treated to a condescending comment - post #6
someone pi$$ed in my Wheaties - post #16
taking joy out of someone's vacation - post #24
GRUMPY - post #35
sourpuss - post #36
(perhaps other insults have come in since I started writing)

Others felt it necessary to cheer on those disparaging posters. Explain to me why is it necessary to engage in name calling even if a member asks an off-beat question? Shouldn't one just answer the OP's original question, answer my question (no one did that) or just explain their understanding of the purpose of the board? I will certainly be more courteous while I post on this board, but also hope that others who believe that the path to civility is insulting others who they disagree with them will also learn something.

BTW - A quick check shows six people have posted six trip reports in the last 12 hours with all encouraging people to ask questions about there just concluded trips.

Peace

:)I am here in WDW right now... the weather is pleasant, not as hot as in years past still humid of course. The crowds are way lower then years past too. I mean everything is a walk on,... still there are the rides that always seem to have a wait... Toy Story Mania and Sourin still have waits.. but only like 30 min. At the Main Street parade we usually have to get there and find a seat an hour ahead of time... and we were able to walk right up and sit right before the parade started (there were still sopt available even)
The rain showers are still here.... but it is what it is! bring a little umbrella or buy a poncho and trek on. Like today, no rain ALL day.... come back to the hotel change for dinner come back out and poof a monsoon! but it lasted only about an hour. Best Wishes for your upcoming trip! we are having a great time!

Today's temp was 90 and it's supposed to stay in the 90's till we leave to come home on Sunday,:)

oh and in regards to the lovebugs!!!! I have seen only a few! (really) which is strange cuz they are usually every where!! hardly any at all.:confused3

Probably because they are excited about their trip and the other threads don't answer the OP questions. Why would you feel the need to be so rude?:confused3
Because this is the Disboards.:lmao: I swear there are people who just wait to jump down peoples throats-they seem to think they're moderators or something. Ignore them.

FWIW, I clicked on your post because I was interested in the answers to your question...Under 2 days left!!!!:cool1::banana::dance3:

At quick glance there are 3 trip reports already on this page. Why do you feel a need to start a new thread when you can just read those that are already posted?

Really, who cares!? If they want to post let them post. Don't read it if it bothers you. Geesh!

:hug:OP THANK YOU for asking I was wondering this too. Im glad to hear the bugs are gone!:thumbsup2
Dont let one persons bad attitude slow down your enthusiasm. Its unfortunate that those people fell the need to dig their claws into others bubbles.
Hope you have a great trip!

Just got back yesterday, and it was great!! Hot and Humid in the mid 80's with a few days of showers that lasted only 15mins or so. It was very tolerable, but we can be used to humidity here near Chicago.
Have a wonderful trip, the Halloween decor. was beautiful.

Hmmm, maybe you should follow your own advice. Just answer the OP's original question instead of making snarky comments. Now, if you had said something to the effect of..."if you do a search you'll find several threads on your subject" or something like that, I'm sure you would not have had the rash of comments and name-calling. Momma always told me if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. And I'll add, if you can't be constructive in a non-demeaning way then don't say anything either. Tactfulness is an art I guess.

I'm so glad the OP asked...I was wondering the same thing too. We are leaving at 6pm tomorrow night to drive!!! I have a friend that is there now and she emailed me last night and said it was hot & humid (we are from Ohio so its been in the 70's/low 80's) but everything was a walk on or less than 20 min wait except TSM. She said they got there at noon (not sure what day but I think it was a Fantasmic night) and the FPs were gone and they waited 2 hours but she said it was great!

Oh I hope the crowds stay low this week...anyone think they will stay low for this weekend/next week?!?

Thanks for all the reports - we are there next Friday:cool1::cool1:

Doesn't it just amaze you that people can be rude and then expect no one to say anything in reply!! It seems that "the right to free speech" comes before treating others with respect! Also got to love "I apology but....." I know they will say I'm doing the same thing - refer to line one in this paragraph!

It's pretty simple. I don't like Saved By The Bell. Instead of berating it and always asking "why is this show so dumb", I just don't watch it.

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: I agree!!!

And I love the weather reports too. We leave in 2 days and I have not really seen this addressed. Thanks for posting everyone!

I am here now. Reiterating what others posted....temps around 90, always a chance of t-storms but sometimes get away with nothing, hot and humid. I've been wearing sports bras, moisture wicking shorts/tees and wearing my hair up and have been comfortable. But then again, I am OK with humidity. DH on the other hand, looks like he's sweating bullets. It's all how you tolerate the heat. Lovebugs? I have not seen a one. Have a good time!

Glad to hear the weather updates....10 days just can't come soon enough.

keep em up...it gets us more excited for our trip. :thumbsup2

Thank you to everyone who's provided updates. I leave in 2 days, and can not wait! I'm taking 3 Disney Virgins (they have not been there in over 20 years since they were children).
