Ok, I really need some help! We're planning a big family trip next year, but scheduling conflicts are making it so that we only have a couple of options for dates. Our options are the first week of March (3/1-3/7), or the second full week of April (4/12-4/18). Which is best for crowds? We went the last week of February this year and it was perfect! But it looks like the first week of March is supposed to have considerably larger crowds. Has anyone been the first week of March and had any experience with the crowds? Would April be a better option?

Please help! I love planning, but planning for a group is so much more stressful! Thanks!

Oh, and Mardi Gras is in February next year, and Easter is 4/5.

This may be of some help....

We have been that week several times and it is a really nice week to go. There are a couple things to take into account though. When is Mardi Gras. Believe it or not, but Mardi Gras week can seriously impact crowds. The whole state of LA takes off, plus a few colleges begin their spring breaks as a result. Some colleges also have their Spring Break no matter what the 1st week in March. Also, Canada begins their Spring Breaks. There is also a cheerleading competition that we have encountered a couple of times, but that shouldnt impact you unless you are staying at a value like the All Stars. It is really a great time to go. That is the week I prefer. If I had my choice I'd go that week every year.

Thanks guys!! I had seen that chart ranking the weeks, and it seems like they expect pretty low crowds that week. But then touring plans had it at 5's and 6's all week, so I wasn't sure which to go off of.
And thanks for the personal account! Mardi Gras is in February next year, so we should be ok there. We've been in late February, and the crowd levels were great! But we've also been a little later in March and gotten caught up in Spring Break crowds. I just want to make sure we never do that again! Haha

I was there this year during that time and it was much more crowded than I was expecting. MK and AK were at Phase 2.
