Can anyone clue me in to what crowds will be like during HP Celebration weekend? I had my vacation all figured out and when I called to book, the booking agent told me it was the weekend of the Harry Potter Celebration. I'm guessing this means huge crowds. I can adjust my plans to leave Friday instead of Saturday, but will crowds already be taking over on Friday? (Touring Plans has no indication of this on their crowd calendars - levels that week are at 2s and go up to a 4 on Fri and Sat.) Current plan is to check in to RPR on Tues night (after touring Disney all day) and use our park to park tickets on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. Is cutting it so close with the HP Celebration a mistake? Should I just push the whole vacation back a week? (which means being at Disney over Superbowl weekend and the impact that the Quarterback crowd will do to Monday after the Superbowl.) Ugh! It's never been this difficult to plan and coordinate a trip before!!

Hello fellow HP Celebration crowd level changes freaker. :wave2:

I was in the same situation. I planned for that week because of the low crowd estimates and then they made the announcement about that last weekend of our trip. From everything I’ve found about last year’s event, people say it really wasn’t that bad. The crowds were manageable in the HP section and didn’t affect the rest of the parks much at all.

You’ll have the Express Passes from staying at Royal Pacific, so I would just do everything you want to that is HP related in those first few days (esp. since most of the rides don’t use the Express Pass anyway) and then you could just avoid those areas completely on Friday. You’ll have those Ex. Passes to use if the other areas DO get crowded.

I wouldn’t bother with the hassle of changing your dates. I think we'll both be just fine! Sorry I don’t have any personal experience from last year to share with you, but since no one has answered yet, I thought I’d weigh in. Hope that helps a little.
