Crowds during AK AM EMH and the Safari?

How crowded does AK typically get during AM EMH? We are hoping to do an early ride on Kilmanjro Safari in hopes of seeing more active animals, but since you can't book FP during EMH, I was thinking of heading straight there; however, I don't want to end up standing in line for 20-30 minutes, then riding and by the time we get off, the park is open to everyone and we feel like we didn't get much done during EMH (EE essentially).

So, we thought about maybe scheduling a FP for KS at 9am, but if that is unnecessary, we will save it for something else. But I think this is very much dependent on how busy AK AM EMH typically is, and how long the line is for KS right at the beginning of EMH?

We have always hit the safari right away when we get to AK and don't have to wait in much of a line. I would go there first, personally.

I can't say how long the line for KS will be because we usually fastpass that.
