We are planning a trip during the holidays this year. DH wants to go when the crowds are low, if possible. Which week is typically less crowded--the week before Thanksgiving or the first or second week of December?
We were at WDW Dec 10-20 this last December, and the crowds were great! We did start seeing a noticable increase around the 18th. I think the 2nd week is usually 'POP Warner' week, so you might want to be sure you're not staying at a POP Warner resort.
I also highly recommend using TourGuideMike's suggestions on which parks to do on which days (crowd levels).
We went Dec 21-30 last year and it was crazy busy until the 25th, then it got worse. If you can go earlier as the pp's all said then by all means do so!

I agree. We were at WDW last year during Thanksgiving week and Christmas week. After experiencing the craziness of Christmas week, we will never go back during that time. We did many different things like going to different resorts to see the decorations. We actually ended up leaving a day early because of the lack of enjoyment.
Questions about crowd levels are best asked on the Theme Parks board.. (yes, even for resort crowd levels because the two are so intricately intertwined..)
I'll be moving this one there.
December 20th to January 2nd is the single busiest period on the WDW calendar for the whole year.
Something to keep in mind. Simply put, that's as BUSY as it ever gets for that extended window.
Crowds are average in the beginning of December, but not dead and definitely not low attendance anymore. Disney has done an excellent job at promoting this time as " the best time to go" so it is alot busier than in years past.In fact, I completely avoid the first 2 weeks in December and go the week right before the holidays now.
