How busy do you think the crowds will be that week?
We are making our plans and trying to plan with HUGE crowds in mind!

We are going to be down there that week also. All of the websites are reporting 6/10, and 7/10 crowd levels. The resorts still have quite a bit of availability if you go on and try to book for those dates, and the reservations for dining are still pretty open too- so fingers crossed!! Don't think it will be horrible- but will be crowded.

Thanks, I already have my dining booked! Hopefully it won't be too bad.

I also booked my dining- I usually book 180 days out, but we booked the trip last second (38 Days)- so I was worried about dining. But at 35 days, I got all the reservations we wanted. Chef Mickey's at 35 days out is unheard of- but it was available 5 days that we are there. We also got 1900 PF, Cape May, Fantasmic package, Ohana, Crystal Palace, etc. We usually go in September- so we are trading extreme heat for crowds. Hopefully it's not too bad.

We're there too that week - made all of our ADRs at about 55 days out, no problem getting everything we wanted, including chefs counter at the Rose.

Hopefully (jinx) it will be slow....

I am planning to visit during this time frame too.
I have visited Disneyland in April before. It was not crowded when I went the first time. It was busy, yes... The second trip (Different year) I did not pay attention to timing. For I ended up planing for the week before Easter. Now it was very busy then. I did not care for the crowd levels. I do not like big crowds. I do not care to get sun burned while waiting too long for anything. Plus, people seem to become more cranky, or cranky to begin with, when there are too many visitors at the parks. I will most likely never, ever plan to visit Disneyland ever again, the week before, during nor the week after Easter.

I like to think that we will be safe from too many park visitors. I suggest not going on Monday, nor Saturday to Disneyland. If anything, go in the morning before the park opens. Then when it becomes very busy, you can park hop. If it is too busy there (DCA) then perhaps go off site. Maybe spend time back at your hotel. Go swimming, perhaps. Or take a nap. Maybe go sightseeing, then go back to the parks at night.

I cannot go the week after.... for everything is paid for. And my hotel had to be pre-paid.

It will be busy, but not INSANE. I don't know if that helps, but... it's Spring Break for some, but not yet the mass Spring Break flood.

That said...

It'll be busy. The week before and the week after Easter will be worse though.

Haha my spring break is this week as well and I will be at DLR! I am going on a Wednesday so hopefully it won't be too bad! I hope everyone who is going has a great trip! :goodvibes

I think the Anaheim school district has their spring break that week, and the So Cal passes are not blocked out on weekdays so probably should expect a lot of locals.

We are going April 3-6th. Touring plans and other crowd index sites give those dates an average of 9 out of 10. It is going to be quite busy. I think the hotel information can be misleading since spring break is happening for many local school districts. I expect a huge locals crowd.

Thanks, It is our spring break & everything is paid for & I can't change our timeshare. We will just expect BUSY, but hope for the best.

I agree. And I cannot get a refund on a number of tickets that i have either.... with that said, I am planning regardless to make it a real point to be there before the park opens. And get Fast passes, fast passes, and more of them, as they become available. The only thing that I do not like about single rider lines, is for example at Indy, you miss the entire entrance. I love hearing the water drip, and the bats flying over head. I like to take my time during that visit. As other visitors fly by me. They miss so much in my opinion.
As always, in the end, one will have to take it one hour, then one day at a time.

That's our plan as well. I just don't think locals get to the park in the morning. I think they enjoy the night time activities. We went in December of last year during a very busy weekend. We went to rope drop every morning and the park was virtually empty until around 11-12 each day. We concentrated on the rides without FP that typically have long lines and picked up FP along the way.

It worked great!

Well...it looks like we will have great company that week!! We will be down from Washington from the 5th through the 10th. By chance, there are 4 other families we know also going at that time, but they will only be there m-w. We know it will be busy, so we go in with the attitude that we have 6 days to enjoy ourselves so why stress about crowd levels...at some point we'll get to it all!! I am still doing what I can to talk the fam into going for rope drop 1 day just to test it out, as we usually go about noon and close the park to get those short lines late night!!

We will have a party of 8 going that week as well. So YES. It will be busy, but not July busy LOL. I probably won't start driving up from san diego until about 8 am, so I won't be waiting in line to take advantage and scoop up all the fast passes. Although I am looking forward to staying late!

I am not sure if I can do 8 -midnight. For I have tried that in the past. But was just tired enough, to where I decided to go back to my hotel, and watch the fire works from there. I have stayed until that time before, but I was not there before the park opened. Maybe I will take a nap in the Tiki Room. :)

We are also considering a trip during that time (April 5-8 vs April 27-30---both times look busy). We are planning on using fastpasses, magic morning(I think I read you are staying offsite in a timeshare?, then plan on going when park opens/be there at rope drop), make reservations at your fave places to eat so you know you will have a table, taking breaks in the afternoon to eat or swim, and going back at night until the park closes.
