Hi,
I am starting to worry about how crowded and hot it will be in July - I know-now isn't the time to worry about it!! This was the only time we could go - we are staying for 8 days starting July 4th -
How hot is it and how crowded is it? I'm from coastal South Carolina, so I am no stranger to heat and humidity! Is it really insane to go at that time? Come on - please give me the brutal truth - I can take it....(I think!)
We will be staying onsite, so we plan to do parks in the morning and go back to hotel for pool and rest in the afternoon.....

We will be there on July 8-15th. I am also starting to become worried since I am going to be 6 months pregnant and have a 22-month old and 8-year old with me. DH is now contemplating switching our reservations that are at CBR to Poly just for the sheer convenience of the Monorail and boats. I am just having a hard time justify spending that much more money. But I guess when I am sweating and dying from heat exhaustion I would pay any price to get back to the hotel pool quickly!:bounce: :bounce:

HOT, RAINY AND MOBBED!!! I guess those 3 words pretty sum it up. It's usually about 90 - 95 degrees with VERY high humidity. So, melting is definately an option. It usually does rain most days, but only for about 30 - 45 minutes at most, but when it does rain, it RAINS!!! Torrential downpours, meaning you'll be soaked in approx 30 seconds, even with a poncho!!! I've never had a complete washout of a day in the summer at WDW, but it can happen as well. Summer at WDW is VERY crowded, with up to 2 hour waits on some of the most popular rides ie: All the moutains, RnR, ToT, Buzz, Peter Pan, etc. There even was a 40 minute wait on Small World!!! It's not as bad as Christmas, but it is crowded. We do what both of you are planning to do. We head out in the AM, stay until right after lunch and head back to our hotel for a nap and swim. We head back out around dinner and stay out until the kids start to get tired, usually 9 - 9:30. Now, with all this, I LOVE summer!! It's my favorite time to go. I don't mind the crowds, with Fast Pass, they're managable. I also love being to use the pool.

MY DAUGHTER AND I ALWAYS VACATION AT DISNEY IN JULY.
YES IT IS VERY HOT USUALLY AROUND 92 TO 96 DEGREES, BUT WE DON'T MIND THE HAT THAT MUCH. ITS BEST IF YOU DON'T LIKE HEAT TO GO TO THE POOL FIRST AND VISIT THE PARKS IN THE EVENING WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN. FOR THE LINES AT THE PARKS WE USE TO BE ON LINE FROM 45 TO 1 HOUR, DEPENDING ON HOW POPULAR THE RIDE IS. NOW IF YOU STAY AT DISNEY RESORT THEY HAVE SOMETHING CALL FAST PASS, YOU GO TO THE RIDE YOU LIKE SLIDE YOUR ROOM CARD IN, YOU GET A TICKET WITH A TIME ON IT USUALLY 1 TO 2 HOURS LATE WHEN YOU COME BACK AT THE POST TIME YOU GO RIGHT IN AND AVOID THE LONG LINES. YOU CAN ON USE 1 FAST PASS AT A TIME.

IT'S YOUR VACATION JUST RELAX AND TAKE IT SLOW AND IT WON'T BOTHER YOU.
HAVE FUN:Pinkbounc

Lori- are you saying that the 2 hour waits are all day- in the morning and evening as well? Or are the 2 hour waits more like during the day? I am so nervous about our trip. I am still debating on staying at HRH for my full vacation and pushing the FTP till later in the year. As everyone else is doing, I am planning on doing the park in the a.m., do a nice lunch and then head to the hotel and going back after dinner. But, if the parks are crazy from opening til closing, I may need to rethink this!

I said UP TO 2 hour waits. If you try to ride the more popular rides early on, the waits won't be very long maybe 30 minutes. It's towards noon and after that the lines get out of control. The only exception to the rule is Test Track and probably Mission Space when it opens. Test Track lines start almost immediately, and usually 30 minutes to an hour after park opening, the line is already pushing 60 minutes. If you use fast pass, you can keep your waits down significantly. In the evenings around dinner, the waits start to dwindle down again, but not to the levels seen early in the morning.

Hi Carol,

One of our annual trips is always in July. This year we are at OKW July 5-12. As previously stated, it is hot and humid...but not unbearable.

As others suggest, go early or late to the parks, come back and swim, go to DTD, go to a Water Park, see a movie, etc. in the heat of the day.

We go frequently, so we pace ourselves and usually walk around the parks and see whatever "strikes our fancy". If something has a long wait we come back later.

Also, try an E-night at Magic Kingdom.

Since you said it was the only time you could go...relax and enjoy your trip! :p

Have Fun!

Myronlynn, I would agree with your husband, the Poly would be a better choice for you! It is hot, and being able to hop on the monorail or catch the boat back to your hotel will be much easier for you with an 8year old and 22 month old. You will probabley spend alot of time being at the MK and it is so much easier to get there from the Poly. You also are right near the TTC to ride the monorail to Epcot. I just wanted to tell you to give some more thought to changing your resort. The CBR is a wonderful resort but in your condition with two young ones I think you would be happier at the Poly. The Poly also has a zero entry pool which is wonderful for toddler and parent to be near or in the water together. It also has the water coming out of the ground area right near the pool. And being in the pool on the beach is heavenly! We stayed there for the first time in Feb. and loved the pool area! We are DVC owners and split the stay at the BCV, but we enjoyed both pools equally. Whatever you decide I am sure you will have a magical stay with your family!! Joan:Pinkbounc

We go every single year in July. We're the type of family who loves the HEAT. I have short hair, so the humidity doesn't bother me. We go very early to the parks, stay til noon, what we didn't get to do, we try to do either at night or the next time we visit that certain park. WE bring our mister fans, and wear those wet bandana's around our necks(i forgeot what there called, when they dry, we wet them again in the water fountain). We never really waited longer than 20-30 min. for a ride, especially its a small world, that you go right in. Then around noon or so we go back to the resort, put our suits on and either stay at the pool or rent a boat. Yes its hot, sticky and crowded, but I always expect it to be worse than what it really is & then I'm pleasantly surprised. It usually does rain (as the other poster said RAAAIINN) But it usually does so for a short time, just enough to cool things off for a few minutes, then the heat comes back. After the miserable winter we had here in NY/NJ, and this lousy spring, I don't care how hot it gets. Go and enjoy, when it gets to hot for you, go in an air=conditionned place & cool down. Just be prepared & you'll be fine. You know the story, drink lots of water, bring mister fans with you, comfy sneakers/sandals,blah,blah,blah. Have loads of fun, I CAN'T wait to go.....
