Hi! We're thinking of going to DW Dec 2-10. How are crowds and weather during this time? We would not normally be going, but I just got out of the hospital for about two weeks with life-threatening pneumonia. I was on a life support for four days. Sooooo, all this sickness and being close to death made me realize that life is too short, and the one place I really wanna be is DW. My girls are 17, 10, and 7, and my oldest wanted to go on a last trip before she goes off to college and such anyways.

So I'm hoping crowds will be light and weather will be not-too-nippy. Any input would be great!

Thanks!

Were going around the same time and would love to know the answer as well. The weather part is scaring me a bit. I am hoping it's not cold. I want WARM weather! Pixie Dust for us for warm weather!

There has been a lot of difficulty getting on site accommodations for that week so I would check to make sure there is something available.

I think the crowds are supposed to be reasonably low that week but there are the Mousefest and Pop Warner groups that are at the value resorts.

The weather can vary from the 40's to the 80's so I would pack lots of different types of clothes. I am bringing pants that can roll up to capris and t shirts that can be layered with sweatshirts.

1st let me say that Im glad you are doing better.

We have been several times during early Dec. The weather is usually nice 70-low 80s. Nighttime may get a little cool, but not unbearable. Bear in mind that it can get cold. We have experienced 30s. And 30 in FL. is cold.

So my advice is go prepared for both. Hooded sweatshirt is a must! But bring your swim gear also. But dont let the weather hold you back. WDW during Christmas is an extra festive time. Everything is decorated, special activities take place, its just a fun time to be in the World.

And the crowds are usually low. I would try to get on property if resorts are available, but if not, many resorts around the area have transportation to parks.

Boyfriend and I will be there from Dec 6-12 and were told by local Orlando friends to dress lightly for day but bring something to layer at night, esp if we're to attend the Christmas Party (12/7). In terms of crowds, heard that its pretty light that time of year. We're debating whether to try to get on the Kali River Rapids that time of year. Anyone managed to do the water rides and not freeze?

See y'all there!

Being not only a Disney nut who will be in Disney this week, but also a travel agent...I can say this year seems to really be racking in the crowds! I just tried to book an on site package for a client this morning. While I had no luck getting 'on site', the Swan IS available! FYI!!! :cool1:

My wife and I are going the 2-9th. Last year around the same time we were very comfortable in shorts and t-shirts during the day, but a couple nights it was colder than we expected (maybe because of the "snow" that they spray in the air!). We broke out the sweatshirts and they worked great except for one evening when we went to MGM; Basically froze our heinies off. But with all the holiday cheer in the air, the smell of roasting cinnamon nuts and the hot chocolate it really does not seem to bother as much as if we were back here in PA.

My wife and I went in 2004 in the first week of December and found the weather very comfortable. Just like people are saying probaly 60-80 daytime maybe 45-55 at night but be prepared clothingwise for either. We are also going to be there too through the 9th. Glad your felling better :)

Thanks for all the help! I'm really getting excited now! Here's to hoping for low crowds and nice weather!

Hugs,

What a nice way to recover with your family at WDW!
We hope to see you around as we will be there Nov30-8Dec. Thanks for asking this ?
We were there last year in mid Nov and days were very warm but nights after 8pm became quite cool, so we wore sweaters around our waists and put them on at night.
I am packing mittens for my DD's for MVMCP at night!!
