When do the crowds for christmas season slow down. My son doesn't have to go back to school until January 8th (unless we have another huricane here in new orleans and lose all our school vacation days again)

We are thinking of January 2-7, 2007. Will the crowds thin out by then.

thank you

Yes, crowds do thin down after New Year's weekend. We were there Jan. 2-9, 2004 and Jan. 5-12, 2005. Each day crowds decreased somewhat. We were surprised, however, at the number of people there at that time. We had expected Jan. to be like a ghost town. This year we went Jan. 22-27. Now, that had the lowest crowds of all. I would definitely go at the beginning of Jan., but keep in mind that other people's children also may not have to be back in school until the second week. I think that happened this year. Jan. is a great time to visit WDW! :thumbsup2 Crowds come back by the second weekend because of the marathon.

We check in on January 1st every year. Crowds are busy that day, but start tapering off every day after that. It's a great time of year to go.

The crowds thin out a lot by then, but lots of the decorations are still up and the Christmas music is still playing. Crowds thin out even more when the people from England leave about a week later...which is around the time you're leaving. :)
