Crowds 12/1-4 (& Candlelight Processional)???

I have read that the crowds are insane over Turkey Day and Xmas; however, any comment on crowds the first weekend of December?

I also understand that there is the Candlelight Processional during this time. Is this open to everyone (so the crowds will be huge)? Or is it a private event? Where is it held?

P.S. -- Was there last year during mid-December and it was packed; however, everyone said it was because of anniversary.

I've heard everything is booked because of a pharmacist convention. How crowded will this make the parks?
