Hi from germany. I am going to visit US and IOA during the first 2 weeks of oktober. do you think it's crowded? Is it better to choose "non halloween" days?
Are there any attractions closed for refurbishments?

Whats the best way to go to US from WDW Area, i am staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. How much is a taxi about?

A lot of questions, hope to get some answers.
Best wishes from Germany, Michae

WE where there the first week last year and it was great not many crowds although the second week prob will be busy as its an american holiday:cool:

The actual holiday isn't until the end of the month (the 31st of October)
The holiday event at Islands (Halloween Horror Nights) is going to be every weekend night in October. So if you are going to Islands they are going to close around 5 pm to prepare for Halloween Horror Nights. Studios will stay open a little later.
The day crowds won't be to terrible - everyone will be tired from staying up late at Horror Nights !! It won't be like summer crowds, but it will be busy as a lot of people come for Horror Nights (like us !)

Hope that helps & have a super time !!

We've alway found the crowds to be light in October, it's a good time to go, September is better though:)

Yes - October is the best time to go - Less crowds - This is our 8th time going in October - 1st time we went in July - NEVER AGAIN!!!
Would love to go in September - But the Boss wont give me time off:(

I think the prior poster was refering to Columbus day holiday weekend, not Halloween. Columbus weekend is Oct 11-13.

We were at WDW Columbus weekend two years ago and it was mobbed. I will never go to any park on theat week end again

I stand corrected - I can't believe I forgot about Columbus Day !!!! lol :)

That's what I get for being overly excited about Halloween ! :bounce:

Has anyone been to the Universal parks during October 8- 12 ?
That is the second week end in October???:)

Those dates should be fine, but I have to agree September is the slowest time. We were there in July when it's really busy and the front desk told us September was the slowest month of the year. I think it's because all the schools are back in session.

Hi All

I have to say we came from UK in Sept 2 years ago, and yes I agree the parks were more quiet but we had heavy rain and thunder storms every day without fail, October is miles better, having been before and thats why we are coming again in 5 weeks, soooo excited.
