Is Sea World crowded like Disney parks the week of Christmas to NY?

Hey RKMassa! I remember you from one of the Disney message boards. I totally agreed with your comment about crowds during xmas week and just hanging out at our resort for the few days following xmas.

We are going 12/17-27, but will not attempt the parks after the 25th. Actually, I am trying to get my husband to think about staying down longer, but not go to WDW parks. Why rush home to the cold & snow????

We were thinking about Sea World for a few days after we leave Disney. I wonder what Sea World has going on for New Years Eve? Not sure if we'd stay down for 15 nights, but we've done crazier things!

Let's hope we get some feedback on crowds during the holiday week. Happy posting!

Very cool. We have the same dates. We also tossed around the idea of staying longer. Haven't had to decide yet 'cause SW won't release my dates I need for airfare. Now I am thinking of going earlier solo and then meeting my kids and hubby when they arrive on Saturday. Where are you staying?

We are staying at Pop Century mainly because my husband's brother & family want to stay here. Don't get me wrong, its a great resort....we've stayed there twice in the past (my 10 y/o twins are NUTS over the arcade there). But we have definitely outgrown the Value Resorts, hate the crowds, long bus lines, and lack of hot tub!

After the in-laws leave on the 26th, we are thinking of leaving Pop and checking into AKL for a few days....to just relax and enjoy the resort. At this point, we might just as well stay a few more days for New Year's Eve.

I would love the Hard Rock Hotel, but its outrageously expensive for the week after xmas. We are now thinking of spending a few days at Sea World, we've only been to the one in San Diego. Any suggestions for hotels in that area? At this point, we don't plan to rent a car, which will make it a challenge to get from WDW to a Sea World resort.

Any ideas?? Thanks!!

YES. It can be insanely crowded between Christmas and New Years. You have to be at some shows 45 minutes early or else they won't let you in because there's no more seats. The pathways are packed. The rides don't have huge lines usually, though. JTA is less popular in the cold, but still expect a wait.

We thought about doing a split stay too, but due to the change in seasons at the 20th to Holiday, we decided to stay put. We are booked at POR. We love it there. I know this is not the ideal transportation, but I have heard that the Link bus runs from the transportion and ticket center to Sea World. I think it is bus 50.

Got this from Mousesavers....

The cheapest way is to take the city bus to SeaWorld from the Ticket and Transportation Center at Walt Disney World. The bus is #50 and the fare is $1.25 each way. The trip takes about 20 minutes. Be sure to ask the driver to let you off at the front gate of SeaWorld, and ask where to pick up the return bus (also #50). For schedules and further details, visit GoLynx.com.

I only know one hotel near Sea World, and I will tell you to stay as far away from it as possible. It is horrible. The Sheraton World Resort. Nasty.

If it were me, I would stay at Disney and take the bus. Would be worth it to stay on property and not move.
