Has anybody heard any updates about the crowds in WDW for the next couple weeks? I keep hearing they are sold out. This time of year is usually slow...that is why we go in Feb. Just wondering if anybody knows anything.. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :wave2:

i would also like to know this as we are going the last week in feb through the first week in march. I hope that it is not packed big time as that is why i picked this time instead of during spring break

I haven't heard those reports, but maybe it has something to do with the Superbowl in Jacksonville this weekend?

I was talking to a CM re: our upcoming trip the end of this week :teeth: and he said that DW is usually not crowded on Superbowl weekend (or maybe just Superbowl Sunday, not sure now that I think of it ). Anyway, I do know that Madri Gras people will be there next week also, but, how many of them can there be? I don't think that they (Madi Gras people) will make that big a difference in the crowds, but maybe Im wrong, considering I too have heard that things are sold out. I also have heard that there is some type of cheerleading event there next week. We too booked this week hoping it wasn't going to be crowded, I hope we won't be dissapointed

There is a cheerleading competition there, but still, the crowds are usually not bad. I'm also concerned about the drive down there. Will we be driving Friday with Superbowl fans?? Wonder if we should go ahead and reserve a room along the way...we were just going to drive until we got tired. :rolleyes1

MouseHouse14, I would definately make ressies at a motel for the drive down. If you don't want to lock yourself in to a certain stop before you leave, if you could get an idea of where you might be and make a list of some motel phone #'s to call from the car about an hour or so before you want to stop. We always brought an info booklet from Holiday Inn, etc which listed the location and phone #'s so we were able to choose a place ahead of time and then call ahead to reserve something. As far as Madri Gras, it's not that DW has something going on for Madri Gras, but that the people who live in and around New Orleans like to get out of town during MG season.Good luck to both of us, seems as if we will be there about the same time  , Karen

We were there Feb. 6-12 one year and caught the beginning of Daytona 500 week and that brought in some crowds early in the week, a CM said then they head over to Dayton for the weekend. Also been there twice during Mardi Gras, didn't think it had that big of an impact in the parks but DTD was mobbed the night before Fat Tuesday last year (2 hour wait at RFC! 1hour with Safari Club! :sad2: ) Don't forget you have Pres. Day factored in too. Up here in Mich. some schools have the week before Pres. Day as vacation and some have it the week of Pres. Day.
