If you had to choose a week or so during the middle to last part of January until about the end of March to visit, what week would you choose?

I know there are Marathon weekends during some of those months and probably cheer things too. We normally go around Thanksgiving or the week before Christmas but my husband and I want to plan a trip for our 20th wedding anniversary.

I am hoping for lower crowds, I know the weather can be unpredictable but thats ok.
Thanks in advance!

Mary Beth

Last week of January/first week of February. You get in after MLK/marathon crowds and get out before the feb/march break crowds start coming in.

(granted this year that wasn't the case, where it seemed like EVERYONE thought it was crowded that week)

ThankYou! We are used to Thanksgiving and near Christmas crowds so I guess the crowds wouldn't be that bad! I hope not anyway.

In 2019? If so, mid-March -- nice weather and very manageable crowds.

We're trying to decide on a week in that timeframe as well! We've gone the last week of January or first week of February 3 times in the last 5 years and had great luck with weather and crowds those weeks but this year the crowds were up significantly those weeks so I'm afraid to go then! My annual pass expires April 20, 2019 so we need to go before then but with Easter being April 21, I just can't decide! My kids have spring break the second week of March but Touring Plans lists several days as level 10 crowds that week!

Also, I remember a lot of cheerleading groups on our last end of January trip. I didn't notice nearly as many when we were there a few weeks ago in April.

Wow! Like i said we have dealt with the Thanksgiving and near Christmas crowd so i imagine it cant be that bad but you never really know!!! Im just waiting on the rates to come out so I can decide what will be a better deal for us.

I'm sure it wasn't as bad as those weeks! Our worse crowd levels have been 6-7's so we've been spoiled! ;)

I haven't found the touring plans crowd calendar to be accurate in years. I wouldn't hesitate to go during the second week of March again.

I'll just say don't go when there are holidays, such as Martin Luther King Day, Presidents day, etc. Any Monday holiday. We went Valentine's week one year and it was horrible. I'd go mid March or last week of February. You do run the risk of college Spring Breaks, but you can look that up. Our school system has always gone by Easter, but they're changing it up to be the first week of April. I suspect some public school systems are doing the same.
