crowd levels

I have seen postings on here where people say crowd levels are supossed to be at an 8 or 9 for example. Where do u acres this info? Is there some sort of chart? How far ahead does it go???

Hi, the information is gathered from http://touringplans.com/. Look on the crowd calendar for the scores.

You can see 1 month ahead without a subscription to touringplans, or 1 year ahead (March 2012) as a subscriber (it's $6.95/year). It's neat to look at past years' data to see the variance in park traffic.

I just subscribed to Touringplans.com and do not know what to make of their data. I looked at the week of July when we were at DLR last summer and TP had each day ranked as a "10". However, what actually happened on the ground that week was some of the lowest summer crowds I have ever seen. And the whole year was a record year for DL and DCA in attendance.

If I understand it right, statistically it would mean each day we were there (over five days) were among the top 10% busy days of the year - or 5 of the busiest 36 days of the year. Frankly I find it very hard to believe that. So I am skeptical of what they are saying.

I also am skeptical of their wait times for both DLR and WDW (I joined both). They look too low to me. I am going to pay close attention at WDW next week and at DLR this summer.

MiceAge now has touringplans.com as a sponsor. Lately the Dateline Disneyland column has been reporting the touringplans.com data as predicted, and next to that data, listing how the crowds really were, if you wanted to check their accuracy.

I'm not sure where they get their "actual" data, and since I'm not local, I don't know how weather has been affecting their numbers (I don't read their whole analysis). But barring weather affecting crowds, their numbers don't look that impressive to me. I don't think they've been doing this for DLR for that long, have they? Maybe they'll get more accurate.
