What are the crowds like during Thanksgiving week and the weekend? We're thinking of taking a trip, but would like some heads up on what to expect for crowds. Does anyone have any pictures? TIA

We have been the past 4-5 years on Thanksgiving for the whole week.
Personal opinion......Summer is way worse.
The days leading up to TG day get retty crowded but not horrible.
Thanksgiving day is about half the amount and at night when people go to dinner....every ride has always been walk on and off even indy and space mountain. Great day to be there! We have eaten in the park and at the hotels and we love the TG day food.

However....Friday after TG IS TERRRIBLE! It feels like the whole world is in the park. We usually leave on Friday or Saturday just because of the terrible crowds.
Hope this helps!

We were there Thanksgiving week last year (2010), and won't go again that week. We were there Mon-Wed, and it was so crowded it was miserable. We go a lot, too--we go every summer, spring break, and often in Dec--so I know what the crowds can be like at those times.

My friend went for Thanksgiving the week we were there, and she said it wasn't as bad as far as crowds Thursday (Thanksgiving), and Friday--because annual passes were blocked those days. The days we went they were not blocked.

Interestingly, we went during thanksgiving last year and loved it. I have been many times during the "peak seasons" (i.e. spring break, new years and thanksgiving) and we still manage to have a good time. However, I also am very smartphone/app heavy and use those (mousewait and lines--from touring plans) to a significant degree + fastpasses. That way, we were able to do 20+ things a day (avg is like 9-10 per something read in the paper recently) by just having a good plan.

Enjoy Disney Christmas; it was magical last year.

Thank you everyone who responded, this has been most helpful. I tend to forget about the impact local annual passes have on crowd levels. I'll have to check into the block-out dates and plan around that. Thanks again!!

We were there the Friday after Thanksgiving last year and it was crazy. We did plan our day and didn't have to wait long for any rides, but the crowds were nuts.
Not the best picture, but it gives you an idea, LOL!

OK, I can't get the picture to load, but here is a link. :)

I disagree with those who say the Friday after was crazy busy - we were there last year - Thur-Sat - all 3 days were great! Get there early, collect FPs, take a mid day break and all will be well.

You will find lots of information in the Christmas Superthread. As Thanksgiving falls into the holiday season at Disneyland, there is lots of information on Thanksgiving as well as Christmas.

You will find park hours, predicted crowd levels, extra special activities, meal options and PHOTOS GALORE:rotfl:

On the very first page is a great index and summary and through the pages you will find lots of great information on the holiday season.

Enjoy.
