My family and I arrive today for a week long stay. We have five day tickets and have to pick one day to skip the parks. Until this week we had been planning to be at the parks at opening on Friday, stay until the afternoon and then return late, late in the evening. But with this week's announcements about security and gate opening times and early ride closures, we are rethinking our plans. We are not DL newbies and know how to navigate during crowds but we are really just seeking a quieter time in the parks. Now we are thinking we want to skip the 24 hour party and be in line at opening on Saturday instead. I would love to hear your crowd predictions for Saturday, May 23. Thanks!

I belong to Touringplans and their prediction is an 8 out of 10 for that day (if you can trust them). So, 80% capacity. It will be busy but not as bad as the 22nd. I've been there when it has been an 8 out of 10 and it is busy but manageable.

Your new plan is definitely the way to go, skip the 22nd. Returning in the evening may not even be possible with the crowds waiting for the new shows it is suspected capacity crowds could come into play. With everyone else exhausted you can be there at rope drop on Sat rested & ready for a full day! Have fun!!
