I need some help from Dark-side veterans, please.
We are a family of three (me, DH and our 13th yr-old DS). For over three years, we have been thinking about taking a vacation to Universal. However, we love Disney and SeaWorld and those parks normally win out. But since Disney has gotten extremely expensive (doubled in price what we paid 5 yrs ago) we think its time to try Universal.
Here's our current plan, 4night/5day vacation off-site at a partner hotel with 3 day tickets. The vacation would be around 12/9 - 12/13 - what can we expect from crowd levels in the park during this time? Over 3 days, can we see and do the majority of the two parks?
Also, is there anything that the veterans would specifically recommend for first-timers which might enhance the trip?
I know we want to play the new mini golf at Citywalk but is there anything else that definitely shouldn't be missed? A particular fun-themed restaurant (with good food - my DS is a bit of a foodie)? A particular ride or show that is outstanding and would be worth a long wait?
I welcome any and all suggestions -- and if you need more information about our likes or dislikes to provide those suggestions, please ask me.
Thank you!
