How crowded is it during the DAY on dates with HHN at night? And, how crowded is it at HHN on a Thursday night? I am thinking about a trip Oct 15-18. Tell me more about HHN. Is this an added bonus or will it just increase the crowd levels. I was really hoping for low crowd levels for a change.
Thanks.

In the morning of a HHN night the crowd levels are pretty low. The HHN crowd starts arriving around 2pm so in the afternoon you will see the level increase.

Follow up question: I see the park closes at 5 or 6 pm and HHN starts at 6:30. Do you have to exit the park, or can you have dinner in the park and continue to ride until the start of HHN? It HHN just in some areas of the park? Both parks? Thanks.

If you don't have a valid HHN ticket for that night, you would have to leave at 5pm when the park closes to day guests. IOA will usually close at 7pm on those nights so you could go over there in the afternoon as the Studios will be used for HHN again this year and it's usually the whole park.

I stay away from hhn and the parks during Hell week.

not sure if your time period will hit it.

in the past years, it was that wednesday after the columbus day monday.

i did read the week it would be but have to look up the post before i state when hell week will be this year.

by the middle of the month, crowds grow for the event.

if you leave the park at 5, be prepared to wait in line at the entrance soon after it starts.

like metro stated, you are better off being in the park that day, buying the add on ticket/stay and scream and then have dinner at finnegans.

you are released from the holding area, one will be finnegans area, when the all clear by security is issued.

some days you are able to start the park at 5:40 or around 6ish or after.

there will be about 3 houses set up to handle that early group from S&S.
once the park is open at 6:30 for the general admission, you can move on to houses that will not have long lines or crowds.

HHN draws a LOT of locals, and I think I'm accurate in stating that most HHN nights are pretty busy.

We were there about 10 years ago, when it was beginning to take off, and the lines for the Houses were pretty long all night long. Get there at opening and move to the LEFT,not right, and you can move through pretty fast until the crowd builds.

I think we were there on a Wednesday night. Still the best night of my life at an amusement park! I would love to go back someday.

Sorry to ask, but what is hell week? We're planning on being at Uni/WDW October 11-22 (no HHN for us though). Now I'm scared we picked bad dates!

The Florida schools, some of them at least, have some days off during the week in October.

The parks have quite a few of high schoolers during that time period.
the parks were not bad in the mornings.
come on, how many teenagers get up before noon when there is no school.....

the afternoon and evenings were when the crowds hit.
i did it one year by accident.....

I don't know the dates for this year.
In past years, it was after columbus day.
Last year i left the day before it began.

honeybiscuit, i leave the 13th in the evening.
you'll be fine for most of your trip.
