Crowd levels during and after D23 Convention

Hi all!

I sadly just found out (poor planning on my part) that the D23 convention is the weekend right before our first day at Disneyland. The convention is the 9th-11th (Fri-Sun) and we are going on Monday, the 12th. Has anyone visited the park during these conventions? Any ideas on what the crowd level will be the day after?

I went last time (2011) to the convention and stayed a few days after for the parks. I had a friend who did the opposite, went week before and left after the convention. I think the week before the convention was lighter but I also think the seasonal blackout dates expired that week in 2011 when I was there. It was doable, but a noticeable uptick. I wouldn't worry a whole lot about d23. Most of the attendees are local and half who do stay for the parks are pretty evenly spread before and after.
