What kind of crowds should I expect for October 29, 2005 through November 06, 2005? I see that NJ week will start on Nov. 6th, which is the day we will be departing for home. I have seen in some posts that Halloween week somtimes is busy. Is that true? I would like an idea of what the crowd will be like that week.

Thanks

We'll be there at this time also. Everything I have read states that this is one of the least crowded times. I hope this is true. I don't mind moderately busy but I hate fighting the really large crowds.

We've been to WDW the last 2 years during the week of Halloween. Here in WI, there is always a state-wide Teacher's convention, so the kid's have off from school Wed.-Fri. the last week of Oct. Many people choose to take the whole week off (like us).

It is a great time to be in Disney. I always say how can my kids go back to trick-or-treating at home this year when we've been trick-or-treating in WDW for the past 2 years. It will be such a let down :guilty:

It is a great time to be there. I would say the crowds are low to moderate. You still have to time things well, like arriving early and avoiding the mid-afternoon crowds. The longest we waited during this time was about 25 min. for Big Thunder Mtn. last year. We were dumb though and got in line about 2pm. So keep to the theory of going on the "big" rides in the early am or during parades or park closing. Get FP's when you can.

Make sure to include plans to go to DTD on Halloween night! There is SO much going on there and trick-or-treating for the kids.

Have a great trip .. . I wish I was going again at that time this year ... but I can't be too down as I'll be back in WDW in 17 days!!!!

This is so good to know. Thanks for the tip about DTD. I had no idea there was anything going on there on Halloween night. We are attending MNSSHP on the 30th so we'll be free on the 31st.

Yea!!!!!!!! We are there the same time (10-25 to Nov 1) and had hoped it would be slow. We will be at MNSSHP on the 31st, but plan on hitting DTD during the day so we don't "Magic Kingdom"- out by PM.

I was also thinking of doing a short vacation weekend. But with the ticket structure now, a week might be the better value and no rushing around. I've trick or treated in snow as a kid, would love for my kids to try it at MK one night!!

We've gone to DTD on Halloween night the last 2 years, but since you'll be at MNSSHP on the 31st, I believe they have the same activities the night before Halloween at DTD also.

One warning about DTD on Halloween night - there are LOTS of people there, but the lines for trick-or-treating are not usually too long (less than 5 min.) and there is so much to see, the crowds spread out a lot.

One more tip - I almost forgot about this, but most of the deluxe resorts also have trick-or-treating early (like 4 or 5pm). We just happened to be renting mouse boats at the Contemporary last year and had the kid's costumes in the car for later at DTD. Suddenly we realize their are kids lining up to trick-or-treat. It was a little unorganized, but if you go with the flow, it was fun! Basically everyone lined up (think a HUGE line) and they "flowed" through the hotel. It was a great way to see the entire hotel. We went to the front desk, outside to bell services, up to Chef Mickey's and other places I can't remember. The kids loved it!

What is NJ week by the way??? I was there 10/31-11/9 in 2001 and the crowds were small. It was also after 9/11, but overall the weather was beautiful!! Not too hot.

We went in 2002 and 2004 during NJ week and the croweds were not bad at all. Never long waits for rides. No more the 20 mins tops to get on any rides. Most of the time we just walked right on to the rides.
Just wish we picked this year to at that time. We are going Sept 29-Oct 4. Hope the croweds will not be to bad at this time of year.

We are going at the same dates (10/29-11/06) and i really hope that hte crows are not going to be huge, because i am taking my DS 5years and my DD 10 moths old, i dont want to have a very angry child about wainting in line a lot of the time. That why we choose this time of the year
