My fiancé, mother and I are heading to the Magic Kingdom for the 24-hour party this May! :cool1: We have never been to a 24-hr party before and have decided to spend the day at Epcot and make our way back to the resort to get ready for the party late afternoon (costumes and all). pixiedust:

My question is, what were the crowd levels like at the past two 24-hr events? Is it going to be tough getting into the park say around 6 or 7pm? Is there a "best time" to head to the party? Would you expect the park to be busier in the morning, afternoon, evening or overnight during a 24-hr party?

We want to make sure we get in to the park and if necessary are willing to switch our park days to ensure we get into the Magic Kingdom for the party.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you!

We went last May and are attending this year as well. Last May there was a webcam set up so I had watched it throughout the day until we headed over. From about 6:00 am till 11:00 am crowds were decent and not too busy... After that it seemed quite busy in the webcam. We headed over and finally got in the gates around 7:00 pm and main street was a mad house but we got in no problem (don't think there were any closures at that time). We went away from Main Street and it got more manageable. Around 1:00 am till 6:00 am the park crowd level was great... Watched the parade and got on rides with 10 mins or less wait.

Last years party didn't allow costumes so I'm wondering if it will draw a little more crowds. I am planning on dressing up and I am super excited!!!! We had a blast last year. :)

What are you dressing up as? I'm going as the Queen of Hearts, my fiancé will be Indiana Jones and my mother is going as a pirate. I wanted to go as Snow White, but I imagine there will be quite a bit of those given the SDMT opening!

I'm going as cinderella. My DH will be wearing a shirt that says Prince Charming, my mom will be wearing a shirt that says fairy godmother, my dad a mike wazowski shirt, and my cousin a buzz lightyear shirt. I'm the only one actually wearing a costume... But I'm sooooo excited!!! I'll keep my eyes out for a queen of hearts!!

We're going too, but will be driving up Friday after the kids get out of school (we live north of Tampa) so will be probably 5pm by the time we get there, I think. I haven't discussed with the girls yet whether they want to dress up, I am sure they will as that's one of their favorite things about MNSSHP. My oldest may opt to be Alice, but the version from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, as she adores that show, and already has a dress, tights, boots, etc and has actually ordered Cyrus' necklace that Alice wears in the show. My youngest is harder to say, she's really into Rapunzel and also loves Anna and Elsa, (she's 13) but she is crazy in love with Peter Pan, so maybe we'll talk her into Wendy or Jane. We were there last year, but didn't get there till nearly 8pm. Crowds were moderately heavy when we arrived, but were great after about 11pm!

We're also thinking about going after school on Friday - we're near Jax! :thumbsup2 Maybe take a nap, have some dinner and then go all night long! The only "all night party" I've ever attended was my Grad Nite in 1989. :scared:

We're planning on going from rope drop until they kick us out the next morning. I'm already training on the treadmill every night wearing a weighted backpack, lol!

We're doing matching t-shirts, but my son and I are going to try and do the Ultimate MK during that time. Already color-coding my data sheet.

What is the Ultimate MK? Is this some sort of plan to do every attraction at MK in one day?

Yep. Lol. It's available through touringplans.com.

I attempted it with a friend a few years ago and missed it because of the Tangled meet n greet.

If you want to make it " official" you have to upload photos, record wait times, etc. I plan on doing it, whether my son makes it all night is another story.

Wow!
I have been a Touring Plans subscriber for years and never seen the "Ultimate" plans before. Soooooo awesome! I knew there had to be something like this out there. My hubby and I will have to try it someday. This time, I'm bringing one of my best friends to the 24 hour party in May, and I don't think I'll put her to the test of completing the Ultimate MK. She hasn't been to Disney since she was a child, so I want her to have a great time doing whatever she wants to see! Good luck with your quest, though.....I think that it would be a blast to attempt doing everything in 24 hours!!
