Crowd level in April/May?

Last year we went in September and got spoiled by little-no wait in line. Next year we are going on DCL land/sea vacation April 29-May 6. Can anyone tell me what the crowd level is like then?? We are traveling with 2 toddlers, one is a special needs child.

We have been to Disney at various times and this is what we experienced:

January (2nd week) - low crowds, but cold
January (last week) - low crowds, but cold
Feb. (first week) - low crowds, still cold
Feb. (2nd week) - good size lines, cool
March (mid) - good size lines, nice & warm
April (2nd week)- good size lines, nice & warm
April (3rd week) - huge crowds, nice & warm
April (last week) - mid-low crowds, nice & warm
Sept (2nd week)- ultra low crowds, hot & humid
Sept (last week) - low crowds, very warm (food & wine festival, busy)
Oct. (first week) - low crowds, very warm (food & wine festival, busy)
Nov (mid) - low crowds, a little chilly

Low crowds- 0-15 min wait
Good size lines- 15-20 min wait
Huge crowds - 30-60 min wait

warm- sun shining, enjoyable
hot & humid- very hot, sweating while standing in line doing nothing!
very warm- hot, sweating while moving around...

This is just what we experienced while we were there.. Others may have different experiences.

middle of May has been notoriously not crowded but the past few years I think the secret is out. I have a feeling this May is going to be very busy! I have tried to change my resort several times to no avail!

April tends to be busier because many schools have spring break then. May was very quiet last year except on the weekends.

We go every May. So far, it's our absolute favorite time to go! The weather is usually beautiful, and the crowds are very manageable.

Plus, you just can't beat Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival! It makes a beautiful park downright breathtaking!

my children's spring break schedule changed starting next year - so we will be off the last week in April opposed to the first week in April. We've done Vero Beach with a quick visit to WDW on that weekend (beginning of April) twice and found MK to be very crowded, but AK pretty nice. I hope the end of April will be slower in case we decide to go. Can anyone share on the last week in April (say 4/21 to 4/28 or thereabouts)?

we went the last four days in april last year and it wasn't crowded. my family was shocked by the amount of people (we've never seen so many people in one place) but i just looked at it, and shrugged. it really could have been worse. it wasn't bad at all. we were just there as spring break was ending so there was still spring break t-shirts hanging around.

I am glad you asked the question because we are set to come down is a month and need to know what to pack, it looks like the weather is going to be beautiful and crowds ok. thanks

i'll be going in may (week of the 15th). hoping for low crowds. I went last august and the crowds were huge.

spring break? My DD only had 2 days off school. No sense of me waiting for her to have off school for a week so she wouldn't be missing that much.

I'll be pulling her out for 2 weeks when we decide to go. I'm planning on March or May. This thread is a big help.
