Crowd Level - Columbus Day Weekend

I was interested in finding out info on how the crowd level was this past Columbus Day weekend. We're thinking about planning a trip to WDW next year during that time. DW doesn't want to take DS out of school for the whole week. I'm trying to have him only miss two days or school, and tie it into the Columbus Day weekend next year. DS and I both want to take part in the MNSSHP again. Any info about the crowd level would be great. Thanks!

We were there the week leading up to Columbus Day weekend. We left the Saturday before Columbus day (10/11). Crowds built considerably through the week but it was still pretty manageable. HOWEVER, that Saturday in MK, it was packed! The only time I have ever been in the MK that crowded was on July 4th the one year.

At least this year, we found the crowds and weather during the latter half of the week to be very similar to our June trips. The beginning part of the week was wonderful though!

From everything I've heard and read it was very busy over the Columbas Day weekend. Reports have been that the crowds during the week prior to the weekend were minimal and that it thinned out a bit by Wednesday after the weekend, but Fri., Sat., Sun., Mon. & Tue. were really busy.
