Crowd forecast please..Dec. 8-13th

Does anyone know what the crowds may be like at this time?

Crowds used to be light during this time at both DL and WDW, however word has gotten out about that and now it can be as busy as any other time. Also a lot of people try to get there to see the christmas decorations without having to be away from home on the actual holiday. I know someone can come along with a better guess as to actual crowd levels but I would guess moderate to heavy. I always try to go in with the expectations of long lines and crowds...then if it turns out to be so I am not disappointed

Keep in mind that december 8-9 is the Disneyland Cast Member christmas parties, so the park closes at 6, but DCA is open till 9 PM i think. Attendance should be light to moderate.

i'm thinking (and hoping) that's it's not too bad either since kids are still in school at that time. we're there from 12/11 to 12/13...

Me too Northshore! I hope that we are beating the rush before the Holiday breaks!

Honestly, I don't care.

We will be there December 11 - 16 and just to be there with all the beautiful Christmas decorations will be enough for me.

I can't believe we are going!

i respectifully disagree.

Dec 8-13th are considered really busy for many reason.
A) People think its not busy.
B) This is the ONLY time for the lowest 3 APs to be used before the blackout starts on Dec 15.
C) This is the last month for CMs to use their special take in passes as they do not pass over to next year so sign ins tend to be massive between Dec 1-15th.

we'll be prepared either way. it'll be our 1st time to DL during the christmas holiday. i'm excited to see all the decorations! and since it'll be cooler than what we experienced a few weeks go at DL, the crowds should be more manageable (hot weather + large crowds = not so happy DH...LOL!).

I've been there a couple of times during that same week, and it was VERY UNCROWDED during the morning and early afternoon. Once school lets out, it picks up. You'll be fine. Just avoid the weekends, and get there early.

We will be there the 10th through the 12th. DL is open until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Usually it would close at 8 p.m. so I am thinking it will be crowded.

We will be prepared and just happy to be there and see all of the decorations.

Totally agree!

We went in August of this year and it was hot and lots of crowds.

We collected our fast passes (followed Hydroguys rules!) and park hopped and it was one of our best trips ever.

Albort, thanks for your input....I am secretly hoping you are wrong... But, will be prepared if you are right. Still can't wait for this trip!

not necessarily...DL posts hours way before they know what the crowds are going to be...its been very very crowded at DL this past month but yet they still closed at 8..they go by seasons not so much by crowds...

I'm thinking that maybe the extended hours on those days might be due to the fact that they will be closing at 6 p.m. on the 2 days prior to that for the CM parties? Just a guess.
