Crowd for MVMCP at the end of December?

Well low air fares from Dallas, $158 round trip (weee no more Wright Amendment and Love Field can do long haul flights making American Airline compete with fares), and hubby being in a softy mood, allowed me to book a December trip for me and my son! We will be going Dec 20th to 24th. So im considering MVMCP on Dec 21th. This would be a Thursday night.

I was wondering if any has done the party around this time in past years and can comment on how crowded or not crowded it might be?

I know that the crowds in general will be up and growing each day of the trip but I don't plan on letting that bother me. Seeing we were just there at the beginning of Oct. Its gonna be one of those take it easy, do what we can and have some good old Mom and Son time trips. I'm not sure if I want to pay the extra $$$ if it might be overly crowded. In the past we did do MNNSHP on Halloween night and that while tons of fun was very crowded. I don't think I'd want to pay for the Christmas party if we were looking at those kind of crowds.

Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

From what I've read in the past, the last couple of parties are very crowded, and the last one (possibly last two) usually sells out.

It will probably sell out, but so what? We went to the last CP last December, and were at the park throughout the day while the massive day crowd had to exit.

Main Street seemed crowded at first, but by the time we got back to the rides, it was great. There may have been a couple of lines, but nothing more than 10 to 15 minutes. We rode everything we wanted multiple times.

We did NOT do photos or the parade, etc. Those were the only bad lines.

We have tickets for MVMCP on Dec 21st! I'm expecting it to be crowded, but we will have already had a day at MK and we have the option of hopping there on other days. We want to see the parade, shows and fireworks. We'd also like to catch a few favorite rides but will have the other days for rides as well.
