Since the prices are low but the temps are high I was wondering what kind of crowds we'll see at the Fort and the parks from 7-29 to 8-9? Any ideas?

Not sure, wondering myself about this. We will be a few in that crowd of people, hopefully in the 300 loop. This will be our first time staying there in our RV!

Yeah, this will be our first time in our own camper too. We are very excited. DW and I stayed at the Fort in a tent about 15 years ago (it was in May) and I stayed with my parents in their camper before that. So its been 15 years since I've been to the Fort (been to the World several times but stayed in the value resorts)and now I am coming down with my family (:bride: DW, princess: DD 11 and pirate: DS 7). I dont think the crowds will bother us too much, the heat and humidity maybe, but not the crowds.

I've only stayed at the Fort in the cabins. We've been using our points for DVC stays/resorts the past 10 yrs! So this will be a switch, staying in an RV but we are really excited about it and also about bringing our golden retriever, Molly. We've done the family trips in summer the last few years. If you go early, ride and come back for a break and then go back to the parks at night, you will be fine. Follow the "go to the parks the next day that have the late night the night before" and you will see a noticeable difference in crowds. Have fun!

We will be in the cabins 8/12-8/18. Not worried about the heat, we're from San Antonio. It will probably be cool compared to home.

That's a great idea! I never thought about that.:thumbsup2

well, if it will be crowded, i will be adding to it as will (i found out by accident) 3 families from our boy scout troop. we all just happen to be camping at the fort at the same time we discovered.

i haven't been to the fort in early Aug, so i am sort of playing it by ear. expecting crowds and will be pleasantly surprised if it is not that bad.

We will be ariving at FW on Aug. 1st. Last year we were there from Aug 11th to the 19th and Fort Wilderness was great. We were in the 1100 loop and there was plenty of room. How ever the parks were packed! We had planned on doing a late night at Animal Kingdom but it was so crowded we left! The best time for any of the parks was very first thing in the morning.

We were there last August ( August 2-14). We were in the 1100 loop also, and I agree, plenty of room. There were plenty of open spots all over FW. We did not think the crowds in the parks were too bad either. As for the heat, STAY HYDRATED ! If you follow this, with an early start each day and a break, you will be fine,

We are headed back towards the end of July and will stay awhile into August ! We are pumped !!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

We'll be there tent camping it up from July 30-Aug 6! Gonna be hot, but just means we'll have to find ac at the parks!

We will be there from August 6th to the 18th! :cool1:

Preparing for the hot :drinking1 Can't be much worse than these hot flashes! :scared:

Not much we can do about the crowds, was hoping they wouldn't be too bad, if they are we will return to the Fort. :happytv:

Wonder when the kid return to school down there?
